Now that Jeff Wilson has gotten hot Mitchell may not get that 1000 yard season.

Mitchell will get his starting job back when he get's back.

We need him for the playoff game this Thursday!

correct.

I hope Mitchell can play, but dang i didnt know Jeff Wilson is (I think) 15 lbs heavier than Mostert. In the Atlanta game he looked good subbing in for Mitchell, so did Hasty. Kyle drafted Sermon, so he seems to be going for bigger backs now.

Not that hes a stranger to big backs, but I got used to the smaller scat backs like Mostert and Brieda. I always thought he liked smaller backs for some reason.

Possible he is changing philosophy as well. not sure.

I have always liked wilson. he is really good in the redzone.

Titans appear to have a stronger run D than Atlanta. this will be interesting.

Well, Kyle's lost games in the 4th QTR because his team couldn't run the ball against 8 man fronts, that may be one reason he might be changing his philosophy. The other may be injuries. Who knows, all I know is that Kyle run game is working right now.

I loved the catch Jeff made as Jimmy was going down in the grasp of a Atlanta DLineman. JImmy just tosses him the ball in between the DT's that were closing in on him and I think Jeff got the offense out of 2nd and long. Anyway, that arby squad looks strong if we can re-sign Hastey and Willson, in addition to the hopeful continued development of Sermon and Mitchell.

I think the Titans pass rush is much stronger than Atlanta's. Jimmy can't get that comfortable in the pocket unless he wants to get crushed. Those dumps to Wilson could be keys to slow them down.

Agree. It may boil down to a defensive struggle. The thing is that (and i dont watch much NFL outside of our team) i get the impression that the titans arent a come from behind team like Green Bay or Kansas City. Once you get ahead of them, good chance you stay ahead of them if you don't turn the ball over.

Bosa is the *Key* to this defense. That defense has to shut down that Flaming Thumbtack run offense. Make them one dimensional. Then Bosa and his constrictors have to strangle that Thumbtack pass offense.

Titans are a run-first team. As good as Bosa is for an edge in run support, he's still an edge. The key is to stop the Titans run game and don't bite hard on playaction (looking at you Josh Norman). Linebackers and tackles from dbs are the key in this game imo
Can't afford missed tackles.
Hope his knee isn't more screwed up than they are letting on

Two ways to deal with their run game, stay out of the Wide 9 till the Thumbtacks are behind by a TD or more, and Jimmy has to ball hog like crazy in this game and really win out on the time of possession handily.
We're at 88 percent chance of making the playoffs. 49ers coaches are saving Mitchell for the playoffs while at the same time giving Wilson as much snaps as possible to cover from missing so many games. Maybe giving some snaps to Hasty, Sermon and Hill to get their momentum going also. We're out of competing for the bye we might as well shift some of the focus at the playoffs. It doesn't matter which team, we can beat them all but we're going to need our creme of the crop players and more bodies for depth.

Apparently, it's more than just a small tweak.
