Right? Is it his ball carrying hand? Other hand? A pin in it? How is Kyle hoping he plays? He's not Russell Wilson.

I dont think the location of the injury matters as long as its the hand/finger, because Arbys will switch the ball from hand to hand - depending on where the defender is comming from. If his hand is not at full strength thats a turnover waiting to happen.

Perhaps, but if a hairline crack vs a break with dislocation, hairline is way more likely to play than the other. If a chip, vs.a major break, again chip more likely to play. If a thumb, vs a pinkie, thumbs are responsible for 40% of your grasp, so which finger is broken matters a lot also. If an index finger, that is second most important finger for your grasp. If middle finger that extends out furthest on the hand, that is harder to protect than the others. If it is Elijah's dominant hand, most RBs are equally able to carry with either hand….but dominant hand is usually their best .If a pin, that signifies an uglier break, so we hope it isn't that…which would signify a longer time of out of action.

the fact we have heard nothing, is just good football from kyle because if Elijah is not playing, then the Jags will have a different quality of RB to prepare for…..so the news blackout is understandable. In short, no news is not great news.

Agree that Kyle shouldn't be telling folks more than the absolute minimum. Even if healed, I'd still like Kyle to keep mum about where the hand injury is, because DC's will lock on to that and tell the guys to go after that hand or force him to carry to that hand if possible.

As for Mitchell being out, I'm excited to see more of Jeff and Sermon. I want to see if Sermon's able to catch passes, run routes, and hopefully block Jimmy's blind side. If he does well, that's more arrows in the quiver for the playoffs.

Another thing Bellicheck does well: stays tight lipped about everything.

Yeah, unlike loose lips, Kyle and John.
They cut off the finger yet....
Mitchell seems to be beat up on a regular basis. he's in his first year.

Agree. Although I think Kyle can afford to be more loosey goosey because of his offensive wizardry. Still I'd like him to err on the side of Hoodie on the medical info.

Agree with both, Kyle's offense is based off the ground game. He seem to get a bigger charge off the ground game vs the passing game as a coach.

Yep. Shanny Sr. and Jr both adopt a strong running scheme to set up everything else. Not sure how one would expect anything else.

Unfortunately when you get injured early in the season you rarely get the chance to fully recover. Once you are declared clear to play you're back in there even though the injury probably isn't fully healed. Some players say you are never 100% healthy after the first week because they take such a pounding. Think about some minor injury you've had like a stubbed toe or a bruise and how long it takes to completely go away. These guys have to practice during the week and that minor stuff never gets a chance to heal. It's amazing the kind of pain they have to endure. It's been years but I still marvel at the fact that Jack Youngblood played in the SB with a broken leg. Obviously it wasn't severely broken but still.

Our average runningbacks are small and speedy players. They're going to get ding'd up, which is why we're constantly trying to bring in quality runningbacks every year and why our RB room always feels so crowded.
