Please tell me about the similarities between the two. I am not all that familiar with Feeeman's attributes.

There are no similarities between the two, that's an awful comparison.

No need to stunt the progress. Let Trey work on catching up to our speed rather than us slowing down for him.

it will come in time.

We're actually closer in opinion than you think, for me the bolded part is what it comes down to.

We've seen that he's a fast learner and really hard worker. Let's just say that it comes in Week 10, would that be good enough for you?

We know that Kyle can adapt (and has to) around his QB's, and we know we have a great D and running game.

What would our perspective records be by Week 10 with a Trey getting up to speed Vs a fairly limited Jimmy?

No agenda, genuine question.

He's definitely a fast learner. Now applying it is another thing because he's jumping up two levels. If Kyle is fine with him rushing for 80 yards a game, then LFG!

I don't see why he wouldn't be, also it's the actual rushing output that'll scare teams, the mere threat will be enough, he only has to show it a couple of times a game.

I trust Kyle to scheme it up so Trey doesn't have to take big shots.

As far as the jump, I don't think you go two levels, it's just a completely different ball game, college experience can help, but it's really just an evaluation tool, no one really knows how a prospect will fare in the NFL.

I think we might win a game, and maybe at a huge stretch, 2 more early in the season with Jimmy while Trey gets up to speed, I just think that'll be worth it for when he does get there.

Trey Lance still has a lot of potential to be a great QB, but why the f**k did we pay such an obscene price to have to develop him for multiple years in the hope that he can can fulfill all that promise?

If you think he can be Josh Allen, it doesn't mean you should trade away your soul. Because for every Josh Allen type prospect, many more end up like Josh Freeman. The risk is worth a high pick, not mortgaging your entire future

Teams often pay a premium to move up and grab a player they like if they think another team is interested. That's nothing unusual. This whole scenario has been hashed out over and over. If they wanted a younger version of Jimmy they could have stayed at #12. They obviously saw a ton of potential in Trey and went for the home run. Three years from now people will either be saying they did the right thing or it was a real waste of draft picks. Time will tell.

Also, never start a sentence with and.

You are actually a troll and a crybaby to boot. I should have never apologized to you and stuck with my instincts about you. You back pedaled so fast I almost felt bad.

Don't worry about me. Work on your sarcasm detector before getting emotional on here

Kyle was scheming for RG3 in 2012 - how did that turn out? Lance has to be fully committed to protecting himself when he takes off to run.

We know exactly what the "comparisons" are…and depending on which side of the narrative you are on this topic you will agree or won't.

End of the day comparing a rookie to another player is dumb…I mean it's fun from a fan aspect, but you can point out guys with similar "features" that have failed just as much as the ones who have had success.

Judging from his performance in his first preseason game and the reports from writers and fans. It appears that he's lost.

You dont have to take it personal. It's just a football team and I'm assuming you have no relation to Trey. Freeman had outstanding measurables and checked all the boxes, he just couldn't put it together, it's not a bad comp.

Lol what a stupid post.

Are you serious? People make player comps all the time, including yourself and there's absolutely nothing wrong with it. Complaining about player comps, lol what a stupid post.

Is there a single person in the media who's watching Lance day-in-day-out that says he's lost?

All I've heard and read is that he's either better than Jimmy already or Jimmy's still better because of situational football. 8 year vet vs 21 year old with 4 months on the team.

Well that was nearly a decade ago! Though I do agree that it will be up to Trey. Want to see some sliding and going out of bounds, as cool as it is to truck guys.
they are butchering trey lance on the radio right now. saying he cant operate from the pocket and the niners already have buyers remorse, utter insanity
