No need to stunt the progress. Let Trey work on catching up to our speed rather than us slowing down for him.
it will come in time.
We're actually closer in opinion than you think, for me the bolded part is what it comes down to.
We've seen that he's a fast learner and really hard worker. Let's just say that it comes in Week 10, would that be good enough for you?
We know that Kyle can adapt (and has to) around his QB's, and we know we have a great D and running game.
What would our perspective records be by Week 10 with a Trey getting up to speed Vs a fairly limited Jimmy?
No agenda, genuine question.
He's definitely a fast learner. Now applying it is another thing because he's jumping up two levels. If Kyle is fine with him rushing for 80 yards a game, then LFG!
I don't see why he wouldn't be, also it's the actual rushing output that'll scare teams, the mere threat will be enough, he only has to show it a couple of times a game.
I trust Kyle to scheme it up so Trey doesn't have to take big shots.
As far as the jump, I don't think you go two levels, it's just a completely different ball game, college experience can help, but it's really just an evaluation tool, no one really knows how a prospect will fare in the NFL.
I think we might win a game, and maybe at a huge stretch, 2 more early in the season with Jimmy while Trey gets up to speed, I just think that'll be worth it for when he does get there.
