There were reports he outplayed Sam Darnold in training camp... and that was one of the main reasons he wanted to leave. He asked Kyle could he still compete for the #2 job during the season, and Kyle said no. Asked for a trade after.

And again did you forget how Cooper Rush played previously going into last year? There is a reason many in that fanbase wanted (some still want) him to replace Dak Prescott for good. He was 6-3 as a starter for the Cowboys. How in the hell you expect a young inexperienced QB to come in there and beat out the established Vet QB as the #2 for a team going all out to make it to the Super Bowl?

If you want to spew this Trey is the "worse QB in the NFL" and "Trey is a terrible player" then yeah I'm just better off blocking you... or just don't bother quoting me anymore. Just wasting my time. You don't do your research or take football serious. This is just social media for you, and I don't play that game.

Lol. If you want to block me because I'm pointing out something obvious to you, feel free. Trey Lance never played well for us. You hinted at it yourself… this was a team so good that we could carry a broken average QB like Jimmy G through 3 straight road games against the best competition in the conference, yet couldn't find a spot for Trey Lance even as a backup.

There were no serious reports that he outplayed Darnold in training camp. That was nonsense from idiotic content creators on social media. The best we could get for a QB with two years left on his rookie deal, of which we would pay a large portion, was a 4th round pick. We would not have traded him if we believed in him whether he asked or not. It's been nearly two full seasons since and nobody has called the Cowboys for him.

Before you block me, understand this very simple paradox Lance exists in:

He needs real playing time to see if he can be a capable player in the league, but he can't get real playing time without winning a competition. A competition that will come against a player that is guaranteed to be more experienced in terms of actual play. The guy hasn't played in 5 seasons and when he played last he was trucking insurance salesmen at a lower level of college football with the best program at that level. He's not accurate, he doesn't throw with touch, he can't read defenses, he's not athletic enough for a heavy QB run offense.

Blocking is not so much about omg my feelings.. I just want to limit my exposure to ridiculous statements. Especially with ones that have no proof, or no legit research behind them. It's why I don't use social media, it hurts my head and I feel like I'm getting dumber entertaining it.

As far as no reports... I don't want to search through Twitter but did find a radio interview with Matt Barrows, long time 9er beatwriter. At 6:30 of this video he gives the feeling at the time leading into Trey's last preseason game (where he didn't get to play with the starters) he actually never got to play with the starters in the two preseason games. It was supposed to be his turn against the Chargers, but Kyle made a surpise decision to name Sam the #2 before Trey got a chance... which is why Trey felt it was best for him to leave.. especially when Kyle said he wouldn't be able to get the #2 spot during the season.

Anyway starting at 6:30 of this he said the feeling (with most media folks) was that Trey and Sam were neck and neck.. and Matt actually felt Trey was ahead of Sam going into that Raiders game. Again I backed up what I said... there were other tweets from other writers who felt Trey was outplaying Sam in practice here and there. I'm done doing research for you.

Barrows actually starts out the interview by stating that everyone could see through the two preseason games that it was trending towards Darnold being named the number 2, and then surmised the timing of the announcement was so the 49ers could generate trade interest. That's two points you want to directly argue against, lol.

I'm not listening to that whole video because Matt Barrows isn't a talent evaluator anyway. If you listen to beat writers and content creators telling you about football competitions based on their limited expertise and practice exposure, I don't know what to tell you. Darnold has never not looked like a better player than Lance and his actual demand in the NFL should indicate this to you. Again, when we signed Darnold that was a pretty big clue into how our team viewed the prospect of even potentially playing Lance that season as a backup. He had the opportunity to beat Darnold out but of course he couldn't because he's a less talented player with no experience. He would need a lot of playing time to potentially grow into a player that could win a competition like that, and he's not going to get it because getting playing time requires winning a competition… unless a team is highly invested in their* success. Nobody will be for Lance ever again.

By the way, you probably should stop accusing me of not doing my research. I correctly predicted every move the 49ers made at the QB position around Lance from 22-23 short of believing the 49ers would trade him for nothing.

I'm not trying to take credit for that because it was an easy prediction.

Matt was repeating what Kyle said to the media... then gave his view of how everything was going.

As far as you lumping long time 9er beat writer Matt Barrows or any other beat writer with new youtube content creators is ridiculous..... or thinking I just go off what they say, is again ridiculous. I think for myself.

Again I can't take you serious because you don't do your research and want to just spew stuff like there is an argument that Trey is the worse QB in the league lol... and then claim he is a terrible player. That's just ridiculous and lazy attempt to debate. Peace ✌🏾 .

You'll see. Let me know if you want to back your opinion with a bet.
Defending one of the worst trades of all-time in possibly all sports.

1 yard passing today so 22 on the year for a 1st round QB on a team who's starter went down half a season ago. Time to start thinking about your post NFL career.

He's not a good NFL QB...never was and his performance is saying he never will. He can't even beat Cooper Rush for playtime on a team that's already mailed it in.

After all these years, you still don't understand how football works. Or choose to be ignorant for the sake of specific threads/players/coaches.

Copying and pasting from the previous page, with a few corrections.

Again did you forget how Cooper Rush played previously going into last year? There is a reason many in that fanbase wanted (some still want) him to replace Dak Prescott for good. He was 4-1 as a starter for the Cowboys. Only loss came to the Eagles (who made it to the Super Bowl that year) How in the hell you expect a, new to the team, young inexperienced QB to come in there and beat out the established Vet QB as the #2 for a team going all out to make it to the Super Bowl?

Edit- especially when that Head Coach wasn't part of the Trey Lance trade discussion. Ol' Jerrah went at himself, basically disrespecting/undermining the supposed leader of the team.

Established Vet QB who has already proven himself + trust from a Head Coach trying to make it to the Super Bowl....which then changed to trying to save his job.
