Since then we have only seen him play behind 3rd-4th string Olines in meaningless preseason games.
There were reports he outplayed Sam Darnold in training camp... and that was one of the main reasons he wanted to leave. He asked Kyle could he still compete for the #2 job during the season, and Kyle said no. Asked for a trade after.
And again did you forget how Cooper Rush played previously going into last year? There is a reason many in that fanbase wanted (some still want) him to replace Dak Prescott for good. He was 6-3 as a starter for the Cowboys. How in the hell you expect a young inexperienced QB to come in there and beat out the established Vet QB as the #2 for a team going all out to make it to the Super Bowl?
If you want to spew this Trey is the "worse QB in the NFL" and "Trey is a terrible player" then yeah I'm just better off blocking you... or just don't bother quoting me anymore. Just wasting my time. You don't do your research or take football serious. This is just social media for you, and I don't play that game.
Lol. If you want to block me because I'm pointing out something obvious to you, feel free. Trey Lance never played well for us. You hinted at it yourself… this was a team so good that we could carry a broken average QB like Jimmy G through 3 straight road games against the best competition in the conference, yet couldn't find a spot for Trey Lance even as a backup.
There were no serious reports that he outplayed Darnold in training camp. That was nonsense from idiotic content creators on social media. The best we could get for a QB with two years left on his rookie deal, of which we would pay a large portion, was a 4th round pick. We would not have traded him if we believed in him whether he asked or not. It's been nearly two full seasons since and nobody has called the Cowboys for him.
Before you block me, understand this very simple paradox Lance exists in:
He needs real playing time to see if he can be a capable player in the league, but he can't get real playing time without winning a competition. A competition that will come against a player that is guaranteed to be more experienced in terms of actual play. The guy hasn't played in 5 seasons and when he played last he was trucking insurance salesmen at a lower level of college football with the best program at that level. He's not accurate, he doesn't throw with touch, he can't read defenses, he's not athletic enough for a heavy QB run offense.
