Trey should be starting. The Cowboys are awful. There is zero incentive to start Cooper.

incentive is they look at these 2 guys every day. if Trey looked better, he would be playing. he must be really underperforming Cooper every single day. Cowboys may be awful. i agree. they can't run or stop the run, and that was with Dak. how does taking a QB getting outperformed by Cooper every prax and elevating him for no reason make the team better? where is that incentive? They paid Dak. they have no incentive to 'groom' some backup QB.

Why not just tell the rest of the team you've given up and league that you're tanking?

I'd like to see Trey get playing time, but you don't bench your backup for someone who can't win a QB battle on whatever roster he's on. If he beat out Cooper in TC he'd be playing this week.

edit - I wouldn't be surprised if they bring him in on a few designed plays.

The Cowboys are 3 and 6. There are 3 teams in the NFC that they have a better record than. Three. If they lose on Sunday, their season is effectively over.

If you want to hold off a week because you don't want to "tell the team you have given up," fine. But the Cowboys season is hanging on by a thread, but realistically it's done for now.
