if ShannaLynch really believed thats all TL needed was reps then I agree he would be QB2 right now in front of the red headed Irishman

Are we really suppose to trust that Kyle knows what he is doing when it comes to the QB position? He passed on Mahomes because he wanted Kirk Cousins a year later. He was trying to trade for Darnold a few years ago. He had a chance to bring in Tom Brady a couple of years ago.

They are very emotionally invested. This going south also makes them look bad because they have been riding this guy for years saying he will be the next Mahomes.

They are.... it would make an interesting Masters thesis paper to analyze the primary reasons why, I don't think it is football related.

I agree for sure.

NY85 could be right, Purdy might just be a flash in the pan, but Kyle doesn't seem to think so, and Kyle's been more right than wrong in a lot of football decisions so far.

Not when It comes to evaluating Qbs

Yeah, but he solved it right. He got Griese in. He put a team around him of scouts. They found BP. Dude is a maniac. So I thought QB eval was a weak spot, but KS addressed it quick, and we see the results.

are you saying KS is wrong in moving on from TL now and he just doesn't realize his true potential?

Louis Riddick clearly looking for a 49ers job opening lol

3 first round draft picks and now they are ready to move on and Riddick is just looking for a job opening? hmmm somebody needs to answer for this debacle,,,

Andy Reid is the only other one because he recently has 2 SB's so he would be bulletproof. But Kyle hasn't won a championship and yet he is untouchable.

I think they took a shot. It makes no sense to think the team didn't want Lance to be the guy for 15 years when they traded so much. But to be relegated third string after three years, not just game time, but OTAs, camp, practices, meetings … they do not believe he has it. The soft market suggests the league feels the same. Kyle's reputation and sway with the owner will probably take a hit. But the team is talented and has made NFCG 3/4 years. That's a better coaching and GM performance than any quarterbacking we've seen from Lance. Regrettable facts.

Now it's about winning a title and since Lance lost a year of developmental time, it doesn't make sense to push him out there when there are better options. To be fair, Lance may turn out great, but with him losing a year, we cannot really afford any more lost time on this roster. My hope was that Trey would have taken this offseason by the horns and clearly established himself as the top back-up, but he didn't and that's okay. Doesn't mean he cannot be good, just that he's still raw and our team has a guy who we feel is the face of the franchise, so no need to push something that we don't need to push any longer.

Yeah, I think he can be a good QB in this league. Good to me means like the Jimmy range top 8-13 or so, a high quality game manager. I think Brock has a higher ceiling than Lance and the potential to be Elite - we will find if i'm right soon, hopefully!

Lance is a good kid, I feel for him on a personal level, but just have to look at this rationally. I actually hope he sticks with the team this year and can get moved next year. he most likely wouldn't start anywhere this year anyways and he would have to learn a new system on the fly, I don't think thats good for him or his future.

So you are looking at this rationally yet think Brock can be elite and higher ceiling then Lance? Sounds like fanboying.

OK.

never mentioned Lynch being a dirty rat just Kyle, and I stand by what I see,I know a RAT when I see one you do know that even rats build a nest(good foundation) that does`nt change them from being a RAT

Trey wasn't clearly outplaying Sam. No one in their right state of mind believes that. However, I didn't see Sam in those two pre season games outplaying Trey either. Sam, outside of that one scoring drive couldn't at all move the ball and keep the offense on the field. It could be all the things Sam did that Trey didn't during TC and joint practices that put him in front of Trey. However, I remember reading multiple reports throughout camp that Trey was clearly out performing Sam in those move the ball periods in practice. But it is what it is. Neither one was taking the QB1 job over Brock and crying over who is the primary backup is just dumb.

Purdy was and is the starter that is not the issue you are missing my point , Lance should be the qb2 there is no crying here I stand by what I wrote

Why should Trey be QB2? You must be the only one who believes Trey "clearly outplayed" Sam. I was rooting hard for Trey this off season. Unfortunatley, Kyle thinks Sam gives him something that Trey doesn't when it comes to QB2. I don't know what it is but I won't sit here and act like I know more than Kyle when it comes to his offense and the QB position.

So a Niner fan is suppose to be happy with Sam Freakin Darnold? I am sorry but anybody who thinks it's going to be any different here for him than it was in NY and Carolina are sady mistaken. The guy averages an INT per game in his career and that doesn't even include the fumbles. And he was like this in college. But people just continue to make excuses for him.

Exactly kyle better pray every day that Purdy does not get hurt,if Purdy gets hurt season over

If Hurts gets hurt season over for eagles. If Allen gets hurt season over for bills. If Burrow gets hurt season over for bengals. If Mahomes gets hurt season over for chiefs. So what's your point?

Those guys have all proven to be capable of playing an entire season without getting hurt. It's not the same. Those guys are all built to take hits and train for it, meanwhile Purdy has the relative physique of a sickly child.

I feel for him also. I think he's pretty talented. Just needs the reps to get to his potential. This isn't the team for him because Brock is QB1. I think he can be Jimmy or even better, but the Cap isn't going to let that happen. You can no longer have a Steve Young backing up a Joe Montana in this league, it would break the 49er cap nine ways to Sunday. Best the 49ers and Kyle can do is trade him to a team that will develop him, and give him the needed reps to get to his potential. Sucks that he's had injury problems like Jimmy, but because of those injury problems, Kyle's found his diamond in the rough in Brock Purdy.
