Basically, yea.

The DarGOAT keeps rising. If you like the TL traits, I think you would like the Darnold traits. He can sling it and he moves well. Maybe not 11 v 11 well, but I question if TL moves well enough for that, either.

I can see that. Give him as many chances as possible to secure it.

it'll just be really strange if Lance is QB3 because it'll plummet what value he does have and all of that. It's like "what do we do with him now?", ya know?

I think it serves more than one purpose to give Lance the reps. The main one though goes back to what we were mentioning earlier… that they know what they will get from Sam. A few extra snaps in the preseason games isn't really going to change that I don't think. I definitely could be wrong though and Sam could end up getting a full half in a reverse of yesterday.

Is that right? I keep thinking "who the f is this guy and how did he get a press pass?" when I read the tweet of some rando that posts as if he was at camp. This explains a lot.

There's a whole group of 49ers Twitter people that basically turned into Lance truthers around the draft and haven't eased up since. All their comments amount to wishcasting.

And also the Deep State stole the election too right? NO. Shanahan made the pick after hearing from Lynch and his evaluators. He certainly had doubts, but he made the pick because he figured they had Jimmy for two years for Lance to fix his throwing and get reps here and there. And then Lance got hurt, over and over, which short-circuited his development. And by then, Purdy showed up as a potential top ten QB, and thus the Trey experiment ended.

But at no point ever was Shanahan forced into picking Lance. That's pure idiocy. He was convinced.

We know we had a bad game, if some how the Deep State came up lol.

It's fascinating to me… in a bad way.

Anytime someone starts with a conspiracy theory like Shadow Jed "pulling the strings" behind Shanahan, that's gonna be my default play.

The only positive to giving Sam more reps is to just get him more comfortable in the offense, run more plays etc. i thought he was more aggressive than I anticipated. He threw a great ball to bell.

it'll be fun to follow Lance and darnold down the stretch here.

i anticipate that darnold will get to go out first in game 2. He will get the remaining of the first half (if Brock goes out), then Lance will get the third quarter. Allen the fourth.

then I think for the final game, Lance will get the first half and darnold the second.

at that point it'll be a combination between the two of how they played in the joint practice, pre season games, and camp. I've been saying I thjnk Lance will win it, and I think he still can, but if Lance continues to be unpredictable - it may become tough for him to. I just don't know if the team will make him QB3. I think they'd tank what value he has left. I almost feel like he will get QB2 no matter what and then the team will try to trade him before the trade deadline. Idk, I'm just spitballin

We'd have to add pick(s).

Sadly true. Man, I would love it if Lance ends up being a phenomenal player for us, but at this point I don't see it happening. I think they take this year to see if Purdy can remain healthy and continue to perform well, and if that happens they trade Lance in the offseason to a team he can grow with and not have the immediate pressure to get to a Super Bowl. And I hope he does well wherever he goes and has a great career. I just can't see it happening here, barring some other unfortunate circumstances.
