Right now I'm not concerned about whos job it is to be QB1. My current concern is that if Brock has Henry Rowengartner arm we are fooked.

Grant Cohn jumping off the ledge yesterday

https://www.sportskeeda.com/nfl/news-kyle-shanahan-set-trey-lance-fail-justify-starting-brock-purdy-claims-49ers-insider-bombshell-report#:~:text=On%20Sunday%2C%20Trey%20Lance%20finally,against%20the%20Las%20Vegas%20Raiders.

WOW. Cohn lost his mind with this piece lol.

Lol he knows his audience

I guess he isn't looking to gain more, but rather keep the morons who follow him already

Woah... morons? Just because someone is ENTERTAINED by Cohn doesn't not mean they're hanging on his every word and believing anything he says. I like him because he's FUN TO WATCH. He's also wrong a bunch of times. There are lots of guys who I watch who cover the 49ers, some of whom know generally what they're talking about (Hammer, Lombardi), and some of them are just entertaining (Cohn).

Unless you mean the people who think he's more than a bombastic spectacle and actually think he is some expert. Yeah, then probably.

Lol. Own it 5GR

(I also find him entertaining at times. We're dumb)

LOL oddly enough it's what I eluded to in my previous post.

Of course Cohn is a pos and click bait machine, but lets take the more reasoned mature approach.

They traded the farm for Lance. We knew Lance would need time and have some growing pains. That never really happened because he got hurt, but now Kyle dropped him so fast for Purdy I do find it a bit alarming tbh. Is Lance that bad, is Purdy that good? I mean they targeted Lance and lucked into Purdy by all measures. The whole process doesn't give me a ton of new confidence in Kyles ability regarding QB's to date.

IMO its obvious Purdy is the better QB now, but he must believe Lance wont ever develop either? That is a pretty damn big miss and they better hope Purdy is it otherwise they pooched this rosters prime.

Yea it was an entirely reckless gamble that has been seemingly rescued by Purdy. We're not out of the woods yet there either.

It's a move they basically began mitigating from Day 1. Can't wait to read the books about how Kyle ended up choosing Lance because I think it's going to be interesting.

Jed forced the pick IMO

And also the Deep State stole the election too right? NO. Shanahan made the pick after hearing from Lynch and his evaluators. He certainly had doubts, but he made the pick because he figured they had Jimmy for two years for Lance to fix his throwing and get reps here and there. And then Lance got hurt, over and over, which short-circuited his development. And by then, Purdy showed up as a potential top ten QB, and thus the Trey experiment ended.

But at no point ever was Shanahan forced into picking Lance. That's pure idiocy. He was convinced.

People want to blame whomever besides him. Acting like he doesn't have the goat HC they're making the decisions.

McCorkle never got to play with Kittle or CMC. Or Deebo or Aiyuk. Keep the energy the same there pimpin'

Such a ridiculous rebuttal. You are better than this Kriz.

I thought it was perfect.

I disagree with the same comment but I like your name. Hahah MoeJontana hahaha that's a good one.

Its a pretty stupid rebuttal because this is about what Trey got to play with in comparison to what Brock did. Has nothing to do with Jones.

Uh gonna disagree with your opinion on that

I don't care. Sam opened with his pass to Bell which was the best pass either of them threw but then kinda just plateau'd off. Trey started garbage but started to do the things he was good at and started to play better. Neither to me was clearly playing better than the other as a whole and that will continue to be evaluated in the coming weeks. My main point is I don't think I can confidently say we are in good hands if Brock either has arm problems we won't see till the bullets start flying or he gets injured in game again. Even if you believe Darnold showed more yesterday, neither right now (albeit, behind a garbage back up o-line) shows they will be very serviceable. Trey is still green and Darnold always happens to be Darnold when push comes to shove.

Yeah, I don't think Kyle would of stayed here if he was forced to take Trey. I think Kyle chose Trey. I think they really liked his natural raw skill set and the type of person he is (good, intelligent, young man who is a hard worker).

my biggest question is always they didn't they give fields much of a look? Kyle always kinda dismisses him and really only says it was between Trey and Mac, which I find odd. I thought fields was the ideal choice based on what Kyle was saying he wanted.

regardless, I don't believe Kyle was forced into taking Trey, at all. Especially after he experienced his father being forced into taking RGIII in Washington - no way.

Oh I don't care for your rational as to why your opinion is bad kk pumpkin

Kyle wants the passing first. I think that made Fields take a back seat as a prospect. I think Trey seemingly had a better foundation to build a 'pro style' QB than Fields. I think the running probably separated Trey from Jones (who of course had the passing).

Said if before but Fields isn't very different here than Lance. There's no way that 1st year player beats out Jimmy G, unless Kyle fully commits to being the Ravens. Even then I think Lamar is a better passer than Fields.

NY cries about Brock getting to play with talent and Trey doesnt. the clips were used to show that isnt always the case.

So yeah, this isn't about Brock versus Trey. This is about you people being haters.

like NY, you like to assume this about people. EVERYONE knows when you assume, you make an ass outta you and me.

and by me, i mean you.

Again, like you chose to ignore earlier, Brock faced 3rd/4th stringers in the 4th QTR in that example you gave.

Trey played in the 1st QTR vs some vets.

So again, you are going out of your way to do what 5 Rings claims some are doing.
