Dancing around the racism angle, and accusing Kyle of intentionally sabotaging Trey.

Basically gassing up the Trey nutters on Twitter.

The old spend 3 ones and sabotage maneuver. Works every time.

GTFO are you serious? That's insane.

I was a little surprised at how few reps darnold got last night, but I thought he looked pretty solid. Made some nice throws. I'm hoping we see more of him next game.

I think the staff is more confident in terms of what Darnold brings to the table from a reliability standpoint. Lance is way more volatile, good and bad.

That's what I've been saying all off off-season, it's much easier to gameplan for darnold because you know what he is good and bad at, which situations to put him in and keep him out of. That brings stability and confidence, even if he isn't great.

we have no idea what situations lance will thrive in or not, it's all a mystery and makes putting together a confident gameplan, very difficult.

It really is an unfortunate turn of events. We should be so past this going into year 3 with Trey. Was so excited getting past Jimmy finally (not a fan, my choice, sorry) and thought by now we would finally be in a great QB place. They should have let Trey play year one but whatever too late now.

I hope Brock is the one because year after year after year of this s**t might be fun to light it up on discussion forums but in reality it's a sad state of the franchise.

It's just a weakness on an otherwise loaded team. But it's also extremely hard to fix. Great QBs are rare. Hopefully Purdy can be that guy, but I'm confident Kyle and CO. will move on from a bad situation quickly (like next offseason if necessary).

Sometimes this stuff isn't that complicated. KS wanted his Mahomes / Josh Allen. We reached for the traits. Turns out, those guys are a lil hard to find, and the draft is a crapshoot. The tin foil hats, can come off.

LMAO! Yup, works 100% of the time, 60% of the time.

I remember when we drafted him some fans telling me it could take TWO full seasons for this kid to grow, but the idea was we would see and understand the growth. What happened to that thinking? Mind you he was traded up for and drafted to run this SB caliber roster from day one so what does that tell us about the decision making?

If Purdy isn't lights out Jesus in cleats this place is going to implode.

How many posters two years ago were screaming for Trey to replace JG immediately stating he would take the team through to win the Super Bowl?

The hype has all evaporated now.

But the kid should have more reps in the preseason to see if yesterday was just rust given he hasn't played for almost 12 months. People's expectations are just unrealistic.

You don't expect to have a top 5 draft QB to need a perfect sitiation to be functional. You expect the elite traits they have to make those around him better.
Almost zero top 5 picks make those around him better in their first 4 career starts.

We don't know what is going on behind the scenes. I may be wrong but I don't think Trey is the type to sit there and let things unfold the way they have. I am sure he understands his playing level not the greatest right now but I would bet he was under the impression from the beginning we will get you in there and we know it's going to take reps to get you up. In the off-season he is spending all of his free time with QB whisperers to help him. Doing all he can and more. But the play time will not happen and he may be voicing it behind the scenes. It may have nothing to do with sabotage but more a turn of events of opinions behind the scenes. I would not think Trey is skipping around eating cotton candy and going with the flow. He seems strong in his believes and is probably voicing it. Which may be pissing off golden boy even more.

Wouldn't you?

Two full seasons means around 2025 he'll be ready to challenge Brock. I still think he needs at least one full season of reps to develop, a la Justin Fields and Trevor Lawrence, however when you get a Brock Purdy in the house and he plays legendary football for a rookie - two ways you can go with Trey, (a) let him go and draft another guy - also trade him (b) keep him and continue to develop him. I'm for keeping him and continuing to develop him. I think Trey is in a dogfight with Sam for the QB2 spot. We'll see how the QB2 spot plays out by the end of preseason.
thing about Grant Cohn is that he is not trying to generate excellent content to build his reputation as a journalist, instead he is posting negatively energized click bait to promote his career... if his daddy hadn't got him through the door he would never have gotten into the industry, I think his writing skills as a journalist suck and he writes like a fourth grader
