Again do you have all his throws from the preseason? Hero himself said he does look at highlight, yet that's what he gave me

Go ahead and post all of Purdy's bad throws if it makes you feel better about yourself.

I just posted his 7 game winning streak. Who the hell cares about a few bad throws after that!!!!

Propping Trey up by casting doubt on Brock is not convincing.

He certainly needs more reps. Doesn't really matter if he starts. He at least needs to get to the level of O'Connell for him to be a #3 on this roster.

Might want to get Brock a series or two, but I don't think we need to see a lot from Darnold. Giving Trey as many reps as possible, like 3 quarters worth, would give him the best chance to settle in and see if he can get in a groove.

I think it requires a level of prioritizing Trey that I think the team may already be beyond in terms of willingness to do it. We'll see.

NYN, you know I'm a big Trey defender, and I get that it's just one game, but at no point did he do anything to give me confidence. I was not expecting what I saw. I sincerely hope it's just rust and getting comfortable and getting past jitters because of the horrific injury. But to me? While limited sample size of one game, it's all I have to go off of. He does not look anything like practice reports indicated. He doesn't look ready at all. Guy looks like QB3 at best.

He definitely will have a chance to prove the game was just a fluke. I'm rooting for him. But if the Trey from yesterday is what he looks like the rest of the preseason, he might not even be QB3 at that point.

No one gave me any confidence from the practices all the way to the preseason game. None of the QBs were good all week. Our depth at OL is 💩 our band new kicker can't do the one thing he has to do. Our defense got ran over by all people, Jimmy G and the backups couldn't stop the run and let the s**t Raiders put up 34 pts.

maybe none of it matters because it's the preseason…you damn well know if lance played well the same people that have been thirsting for bad play from him would have chalked it up to the preseason and it doesn't matter.

Maybe some, but others probably would've been brought down to earth having hard evidence staring them in the face. The hard evidence yesterday -- while the OL definitely didn't help -- was still that Lance was so much worse than I think almost anyone else expected.

I thought, even if he struggled, it wouldn't look this bad. We will see Saturday. His first game back maybe it was a fluke. If he looks like this again though, he's gonna lose all benefit of the doubt from 99% of this board, myself included.

Brock is by far the best QB on this team, and reports seem to have ASTRONOMICALLY exaggerated Trey's improvement.

Not for nothing but Lance's pressure rate was 50%, to put that in context only 5 other QBs had more so far this preseason.

Lol man, I'll agree and say he didn't do anyone any favors. He didn't play well…but how in the world can you judge anything or play football with that pressure rate? That's embarrassing for this team.

Because if TL really knew what he was doing he would have checked into plays to handle the pressure, or utilized the alerts call structure built into the plays, instead of looking like a deer in the headlights.

Like Brock Purdy did vs the Eagles?

Or when he got his ribs broken

But still manage to win games?? And perform like a franchise QB.

Must be nice having CMC/BA/Kittle and Deebo to dump the ball off. must be nice to have Williams blocking your blind side. Must be nice to actually have kyle call legit plays. Must be nice to have the defense gift you 20 TOs in 8 games.

Wtf

Yeah…..it's getting worse. Also, Brock DIDN'T have Deebo for 4 games. Denial isn't just a river in Egypt

OMG 4 games you say? How many did lance have kittle and CMC for? One and zero lol.

I guess TOs and talent doesn't matter for an offense my bad. Lance should totally tear it up with Jason Poe Moore and whoever else is protecting him. Chris Conley and some no name guys…they should all be on the same page without a doubt.

I guess TC practices don't matter either.
the TL trade market took a hit after the game yesterday.... lucky to get a day 3 pick at this point... 5th round would be gold considering how well we have done with that pick

So has every single reporter been lying? Even the raiders guys from this week? That's a pretty wild take imo,

overall everyone played awful imo. You can tell kyle doesn't give a s**t about preseason games.

honestly even if lance played well, those same people would have downplayed every single thing.

It's not that they are lying. It's more that they don't know what they're looking at on multiple fronts and it's still just practice.

Cite the Ryan G Hensley's, Grant Cohn's, Jessie Naylor's and on and on at your own peril, lol.

That stat is very black and white. If the QB is indecisive and holds the ball, then gets pressured, it's a pressure given up and we think the OL sucked on the play. In reality, it may be three step timing and the OL is taking a short set, expecting the ball to come out on time.
If the first play of the game counts as a "pressure given up by the OL" then that immediately invalidates the stat as a way to measure pass protection. My guess is whoever came up with that stat has no clue what they are looking at when it comes to the design of the play. See pressure on the QB, mark it down as pressure given up by the OL. If that is what's happening, that's bad way to measure OL pass pro.

PFF actually has a pressure stat based on the QB holding onto the ball too long. I think it's called QB created pressure or something.

Never heard of created pressure. If pff tracks it, they don't post it on their site.
Let's see how Trey looks next game. He knew he could get hit this game and he seemed to be a little scrambled, not a good game- all around though. Just a poor performance by just about everyone. Lance looked like crap too.

My guess is that darnold starts next game (Trey and darnold flip roles to even out the reps). Trey looked pretty bad last pre season too. Let's give him another game to see how he looks, no reason to freak out, but I think it's hurt him in the competition for QB2. I'd say it's in favor of darnold right now. That can change though.

matt maiocco Just had a article talking about lance having a good camp and is his QB2 thus far it was right before the preseason game…so he doesn't know either?

pretty fair article from Timmy K, usually he doesn't couch comments but he handled all the issues with a kid glove while not ignoring the elephant in the room...
