i would love for Lance to get a fair chance before they crown Purdy who throws picks after picks.
Trey was given the QB1 role with no competition last season so he had his chances. He just didn't capitalized, unlike Brock.
this is an often overlooked point, when your number is called, you have to ball. You can't go 5 qtrs, with zero TDs. So that opened it up for BP, and BP was on fire the whole year. NFL = not for long. TL has chances still, but he has to play well. Let's see a new an improved TL in preseason, he can make the whole league take notice if he is out there throwing lasers on Sunday, lighting it up. 3-4 real darn good QBs, would be a good prob to have
Sure if you live in a land where every game is the same you can compare people like that.
That's not how it works. We will never know how Brock would've done week 1 vs Chicago but I doubt he would've looked like the guy we saw since the Dolphins game. Just like I would bet lots of money that had Trey not gotten hurt vs Seattle week 2, you'd see a much better player by the Dolphins game with Trey.
Given how our backup OL has looked in camp and even against the Raiders, I doubt any of the backup QBs will be lighting it up on Sunday but we'll certainly see how Trey looks when he's got time in the pocket or how he's handling the pressure when it comes.
