Someone is trying to trade for Trey and hoping to knock his value down a bit lol.

I lose my.s**t on game days

Agreed. Been saying this almost every year but it's the NFL where every team and every player and every play is overanalyzed. Let your eyes tell you who's worth keeping on gameday.

Apparently Mike Silver reported the 49ers weren't offered more than a 5th round pick for him. Mike Silver obviously persona non grata atm though, lol.

It makes sense. Trey is expensive for a rookie QB/back up QB and is a total unknown. He's not going to fetch much.

Agreed. Though I did think it was within reason we could get a 3rd, with an outside chance at a 2nd, prior to the draft.

I actually am not interested in calling people out in that fashion. I also don't think you're as good an example of what I'm talking about either on this board, or definitely a place like Twitter.

You're absolutely dreaming if you think there's going to be equal coverage, slack, or credit, given to players who have different standing. You'd do yourself a huge favor, in my opinion, if you stop being concerned with narratives and agendas you think exist and be a little more open to opinions that differentiate from your own. One is the direct cause of the other. Again, just my opinion. This s**t isn't personal. I appreciate your passion regardless, lol.

Well here is my thing. If you arent going to treat all QBs equally in terms of coverage, slack, credit, etc. then shouldnt it be logical to give the slack and excuses to the young guy? An overwhelming majority of the people in this thread who are overly harsh on Trey are the same people who made excuse after excuse for Jimmy. If you dont want to treat them all the same, fine! But give the slack to the guy with 4 career starts, not the 9 year veteran who was in the system for 5 years.

An upstanding guy like yourself? I'd be completely shocked if you possess all 4 of those.

And had one one of the highest winning percentages a 9er QB ever had. That is all I care about personally. Others just like air yards and that's literally it. Nothing more. Brock, Trey, Darnold, just win. Crazy how nobody cares about that stupid meaningless fantasy stat anymore now that they can't use it to hate.

They still haven't adjusted to seeing the guy in black and silver. It's clearly a coping mechanism. But we obviously can't go to deep with that here.

QBs don't have winning percentages tho. Maybe you mean winning percentage as a starter?

I think to the extent you produce, you earn slack. Deebo can fumble, and it's on the the next play. Whereas if Danny Gray fumbles, he may lose snaps. I think everyone has their own take, perspective.

Your young assets, are key pieces to what you are bldg, and we invested hard in TL, so he's a very key player. My sense on NFL football, is you have to be able to play, or you have to sit. There is no developmental league, like in MLB, with AAA. We are not so much in a position, where we can develop at the pro level a bunch. Some NFL cities are like that, depends where you are at on your Super Bowl window.

I'll leave that to them to decide. I personally have been critical of Trey's play, but have also repeatedly stated that I think it's to be expected and understandable given his lack of experience etc. I was also critical of Jimmy G.

The separation for me in terms of giving a benefit of the doubt to one player or another based on standing (to keep it simple) comes within the context of what I think is best for the team (or what I think the coaches are judging is best for the team). To me, it's not actually that important if mistakes should be more acceptable from one player or another based on experience. What's important is who has shown they are capable of playing at least decently, consistently. If that's hard to follow I can try to provide an example.

Then why do we care who starts?

Naah. Kid hasn't really played yet. This is your "out" to being overly-critical of young players you pick and choose,...but given the context of the post you were replying to, it doesn't have an ounce a reasonability in it.
