Not terrible.

Ok and how many yards did the offense have despite only scoring 3 points? Roughly around 169 but yeah he played so terrible. Try again

Lol
Yards???
who gives a s**t. That won't win games.

Let me see if I can understand this thread.

Some people thinks lance has sucked, some people thinks lance has looked good.
Some people can't handle either viewpoint.
Oh and a few are still whining and crying like 8th grade girls over jimmy playing here.
Pretty much sums it up.

Right. Lol

the team has not only benched him, but are taking first team reps from him in order to make him compete with a bust for QB2/3. He has minimal trade value while on a rookie scale contract with 3 years remaining. Reportedly, didn't really have any trade interest, but he played really well and showed so much promise. Lol when are some people going to realize he only had a few good plays and then the rest was pretty bad.

I will say it's surprising that they aren't even really letting him compete for QB1, or considering him for it, seeing as he's barely played. I get that, but I just don't get the whole "he's played really good ball" crowd. Lol when literally EVERYTHING says the opposite.

The f you talking about?

I swear some of you guys posting like you're either trolling or blissfully dumb.

When was Lance benched? He got hurt. Simple as that. As far as his competition how about we see how that shakes out first? I didn't hear anyone appoint Brock the unquestioned starter at this point. They said he's the leader at this point for what he showed last season. He still has to compete to keep that job by all accounts.

And stop playing the "there was no interest" card. It's a matter of price and what the 49ers would let him go for. We still pretending the national media has a firm grasp of what the 49ers front office is doing? Did the Mac Jones at 3 crowd not give you enough info?

We'll see how this all plays out soon enough. But save the awful takes and misinformation. The rest of us actually watch games and look into details of the sport and context within games.

Everyone has appointed BP the unquestioned starter, barring injury.

1. When did this happen?
2. He already had the injury.
If it comes down to just running the offense and not doing anything stupid, give me Trey over Darnold 100/100 times.

thanks for pointing out he had the injury, yeah pretty sure we all saw the injury genus, he's in recovery, can he recover in time for the opener? That's been what this offseason is all about at QB

this is from June:

Purdy is going to start whenever he's healthy. Head coach Kyle Shanahan and general manager John Lynch called him the leader in the clubhouse for the starting job. Now Sports Illustrated's Albert Breer and NBC Sports Bay Area's Matt Maiocco are reporting Purdy will be the team's starter in 2023. San Francisco is putting Purdy on a recovery track that puts him in line to play the season opener.

We doing this again?

I don't care what people write. Unless you can pull me a quote from Shanahan or Lynch saying Purdy is the starting QB once he's healthy then my point stands.

Shanahan and Lynch both said that Brock is the leader in the clubhouse BUT there is going to be competition. Those are facts. We can certainly discuss what it would take from Lance or Darnold to steal the job(and odds are it won't be enough unless one of them is able to start real games and play very well in wins) but facts right now is there will be a competition, Brock is just coming into it with a lead.

So the idea that Lance was benched and they're pushing him to the side is simply not based on any information that came from the 49ers. So people posting it like it's facts is garbage.

Exactly. All the Darnold takes are crazy to me. More experience doesn't automatically make Darnold better when he's shown to put some awful games out there - games that can doom a great team.

Lance's mistakes haven't been of that variety. He also knows the offense better. What good is experience when the guy who has it, has it in another offense and still makes bonehead errors with all that experience?

I am curious to see how training camp unfolds though. Darnold definitely does better when he knows he can't get hit though so that is a plus for him. We'll see how Trey looks with the work he's put through.

Should be an interesting camp to follow for sure. Can't wait...

come on genus, JL here, and KS has said it would be an easy decision, BP as QB1, but for the injury, that's the only thing opening any door here
if BP is back healthy, he's the guy, now if that's not week 1, all bets are off

What you think you're posting/saying is not actually what you're posting.

Saying Brock is the leader if they were to lineup now is not saying Brock is the starter and there is no competition.

Saying Brock is the leader if they were to lineup now is not saying Brock is the starter and there is no competition.

There is a comp it's for QB2, and it's a meaningful comp, as with BP recovering, it may be for QB1, if BP's not able to go in time. If BP is able to go, and the same guy or close to it, then he gets the first snap. This is the 'he's earned it' talk. He earned that, based on his performance, last season. JL and KS are clear.

This is from Lynch's interview about a month ago, later than the video you posted earlier

"we think Brock probably is the leader in the clubhouse, as we said, but it will be open for competition and it's those guys' opportunity to go in, earn that job."

This is exactly what I've been saying. So let's stop acting like Brock is guaranteed the job and Lance is having to fight for his career.

Maybe it shakes out like that but until we hear it, or see it...stop spreading misinformation.

genus, sometimes you have to read between the lines. here you don't even have to read between the lines, they are coming out and saying, he's earned the first snap, and I'm taking it just as they are saying it..

this is from the WZ homepage, notice the Lance and Sam are competing for QB2:

"Once healthy, Purdy is the front-runner to start the 2023 season. Lance and newcomer Sam Darnold are competing for the QB2 job. "

Man you're exhausting. I literally said odds are that what Lance/Darnold can do in camp/preseason won't be enough to start over Brock if he's healthy.

That doesn't change the fact that as of right now there has been nothing from the team saying Brock is the unquestioned starter.

Until that happens you never know so acting like it's a fact isn't it. And stop it with the "read between the lines" crap. You only read between the lines when you want to.
