Having Brock back for camp would be the best thing! Get all 3 guys healthy and let's see who brings their best.

So, the starting QB job is open to competition. Polar opposite from what many posted .

Purdy is the clear cut leader coming out of the clubhouse, that doesn't mean that there will be no competition. It just means one guy has the advantage of already having earned the trust of the HC due to his play. Kyle said it himself, they have two guys who were talented enough to be picked 3rd overall, and one guy who has played like it. Everyone should want a competition. Everyone who is a niners fan and not just a fan of a player.

I've always said that had Brock won it all our search for franchise QB would be over. He didn't so we are still looking for that guy. Brock should be the leader when healthy until a competition starts otherwise

I have said there would be an offseason competition to be had with Brock in the lead but right now he's working towards health and Trey is taking first team reps

Agree with everything you said, I was just pointing out that many said there would be no competition for the starting job. Just like many that declared A Banks a bust after 1 year. I just hate the impatience and biases. Like you said, everyone should want the best QB to be the starter and let Kyle decide.

The better Trey is, the better everything is. Either he plays and it's great for us. Or he makes Purdy better through competition. Or another team sees it and we get a great trade. Or he plays because of injury and is good.

there aren't any negatives to Trey being good and/or improving.

Yeah, Its still super early. It's more about building rapport with receivers.

Unfortunately not many share your mindset. If Trey pushes those other guys we are in such great shape. Him getting the job means he's progressed and it seen better than Purdy

all TL has done is shorten the loading portion of his delivery and made it more efficient, the rest is the same... still slashing across his body, leading elbow still not high enough over the shoulder plane, still not starting from the ground up and using his legs to release the ball... not expecting much of a change in accuracy, just getting the ball out a little faster and thats about it
