If Trey pulls a RW he will start, if not he will have to wait. Pretty simple

Good comparison.

I got nowhere else to goooooo
too bad we don't have a Matt Flynn to follow along that comparison

Don't get the RW comparison. Trey can actually see over his O lineman to throw the ball. He doesn't have to run around like an idiot then with a talented enough arm, get it to a receiver when the coverage breaks down.😏👍

I'm not comparing the two quarterbacks being similar I'm comparing the situation where he kicks so much ass in training camp that Shanahan starts him. My Lance comparison is a more accurate Cam Newton

That was a good comparison, guapo - don't let them tell you it isn't.

You da man Mayo

KS didn't sign Brady because Tom would have gotten 80% of the credit had we won the SB with him and KS wont have that..

I'm scared that if Jimmy land in Washington, they may just be the team to beat..

What an odd take … all your points. If Washington would part with a #1 I would trade him immediately.

Jimmy would make them the team to beat????? . If Jimmy goes to Wash he'd get hurt on the first drive.

Yeah, WFT is an extremely overrated team. Their defense was made to look better than it actually was thanks to an incredibly terrible division. When they faced playoff caliber teams they were outscored on average 27 to 17.
not defending moon.. but giving a litlle more credit to Wash...

they could have beaten TB in the playoffs if they didn't start the waterboy.. they only lost by a TD. WFT only issue was their offense last year.

The waterboy was the only reason they were even in that game. lol

right?! IMO TB isn't some juggernaut either...they should have lost to GB and in part won the SB because they had a bunch of road cones blocking Mahomes (and his receivers couldn't catch s**t).

And they're away, which to me is the best possible scenario for a rookie: relatively weak defense, no home crowd that could play into going too high or too low, and if he does struggle, no boo birds.

If Lance doesn't start week 1, then I think the next most likely time would be either an injury to Garoppolo or after the bye, whichever comes first. Unless we are undefeated or like 5-1 at that point. Then I think Shanahan roles with Garoppolo until we reach a rough patch.

To put it another way, estimated probabilities for Lance's first start:
50% change week 1
30% chance (80% overall) by the bye week
10% chance (90% overall) by week 11-ish
5% chance (95% overall) he start in a meaningless game at the end of the season because we've clinched or cannot affect playoff position
5% chance he doesn't start all season.

Who the hell would boo a rookie QB for struggling in his first few games? Honestly if that happened they should take those fans and ban them from attending any other 49ers games.

They played so much better in the 2nd half of the season. And s**ts gonna happen in the playoffs. You can't have the bar be, beat every team without a issue.

On top of that, they won it their first year with Brady. All their starters from last year are back as well, Brady with a good understanding of that system now. They are the team to beat. Outside of them having bad injuries, it's hard to not see them in the SB again

agreed

Why i am for waiting to start him is if this team is healthy i think were a SB level team i just dont think Trey can take us there this year and our chancces are better with Jimmy this year

Im more than happy to be proven wrong in TC and preseason though

Brady wasn't really that good in the playoffs, go look at his numbers overall. In the SB he didn't really have to do much, it was basically that DL teeing off on Mahomes all game. It was weird how little was discussed about Mahomes' line before the game. Literally that whole OL was revamped and with some pretty s**tty backups overall.

I do not think they're the best team in football. Like you said s**t gonna happen in the playoffs, it's all about getting there...that's exactly what happened for them...just went right for them.

We will see, that's one of the things I love about the NFL there's so much turnover and good/bad teams can change so quickly.

Barrow's talking about how the 49ers aspire to have more than 500 rushing attempts this season...perfect plan to groom a young starting QB

And he was horrible vs the Saints. He tried to lose that game but the Bucs defense kept giving him the ball in Saints territory. And wasn't that great vs the Packers, He threw 3 picks in that game. And 2 vs the Saints. Against the Chiefs he only threw for 201 yards. Jimmy threw for more yards against them. The difference is the Niners didn't have the refs in their back pocket like the Bucs did. Also with Brady's age he could fall off a cliff at any moment. Players that old don't start to decline gradually. It happens quickly. He is going to be 44 in a few weeks. He is 3 years older than our head coach lol.

THL would love this article

Honestly this back and forth on Lance starting week 1 is silly.

Kyle will play the guy he thinks gives him the best chance to win whether it's Jimmy or Trey. However if the coaches feel the QBs are on equal footing then Lance will get the start for the extra dimension he brings to the offense.

Jimmy won't get to start if Trey is looking better than him and Trey won't stat if Jimmy is clearly running the offense more efficiently.

We'll see how each guy performs when camp opens up in a few weeks. For now i just want to hear any nuggets we get about their offseason training.
Start Lance week 1 and never look back.

And it's funny seeing people doubting and minimizing Brady again lmao

Trey is not only looking better right now but he's making throws every day that Jimmy can't. Jimmy needs to be traded ASAP for pics. You know Kyle really wants to. Just wants to see Trey in pads against preseason bullets. Jimmy offers Kyle like 60 percent of his playbook and D's had him knocked to start his first full season. A manufactured, Chitty Chitty bang bang O with a great d has given Kyle his w's. Jimmy's deficiencies in his 55 dead drives in the Super Bowl illustrates that perfectly. We win that game going away with Treyasaurus Lance

Trey is looking better?
Let's look at it this way, If Jimmy is playing it means we are winning which is not a bad thing. I don't see Kyle sticking with Jimmy if we are losing games. I think he would even pull him after week 1 if we lose to the Lions. Because the only way the Niners lose to the Lions is if our QB hands them the game.
