Any trade that made sense for the 49ers, would not have made sense for other teams. Any trade that made sense for other teams, would not have made sense for the 49ers. I'll never understand why so many were willing to give away Trey for pennies, or oblivious to the fact other teams were not going to pay more than pennies for Trey.

I never disagreed with this point and stated it multiple times. My argument was that they were shopping him... not that they would get a worthwhile offer and pull the trigger.

I thought they wouldn't trade him for anything less than a 2nd round pick and wondered if that would even do it. I thought it was unlikely, though not impossible, that someone could offer us a 2nd.

Which is exactly what he needs to work on….when someone says something about his throwing motion and it being related to inaccurate passes…it's like nails on a chalk board for me lol. People that complain about that, have no idea what they're talking about.

Lance has tattoos on his arm like Kap so maybe his release looks like Kap's release to them.

Tattoos and he's black

kap's issue IMO was he didn't see the field well and didn't throwing with anticipation. Dude could still play and clearly was black balled.

What team is going to want a qb who can't throw with touch, can't see the field well, and can't anticipate throwing windows? Seriously man?
Rappoport makes an excellent point in that only desperate QB needy teams will be willing to trade for a QB right before the season... nobody wanted to trade fro TL during the draft, but right before the season his trade market will pick up some... still think a future conditional 3rd rounder will move him before the game 1... until then TL will serve a useful purpose as an OTA camp arm while Shanny develops Darnold, and then as a camp arm in august while BCB comes back to health... I see Shanny picking up a FA QB between now and camp to fill the void after the trade

NY forced to say that so he won't get canceled
We talking about touch passes?!

I don't know, but what does that question have to do with Trey Lance?

"I would not be surprised if the 49ers took another late quarterback here (in the draft)… First of all, this kind of goes without saying, to have the No. 3 overall pick end up being the potential third-string quarterback on your roster is awkward. And at some point there is more value out there in trading him than there is in keeping him on the roster. There's going to be some team – and maybe in August… if someone loses a quarterback, maybe Trey Lance is better on another roster," Rapoport said.

laying down truth bombs here, even though they weren't able to draft their target DTR it's going to get awkward having TL hanging around as the #3 QB considering how much draft capital was wasted on him... more value in trading him away than having him ride pine, something will get done before the season starts

I'm so excited to see you squirm.

Ok, show me something, ANYTHING that shows they were shopping him. I'll wait…..

"I hope all three of these guys are with us and I don't want to lose any of them," Shanahan told reporters at the NFL's Annual Meetings. "But, we'll listen to anything. Just like we'll listen if someone wants to trade for John Lynch and if someone wants to trade for me, I'm sure John Lynch will listen. We'll listen to anything

Darnold signed here with 2 QBs he has no chance of beating, short of injury, so I doubt it.

Well that's exactly my point, if you were an UDFA and you could choose where to sign - would you sign here with essentially your best option being practice squad.

Or would you rather try the Texans/Bucs/atl etc. i know I would, you have a real chance to make the roster.

You choose here, because all the QB's have a hisotry of injury and a coach where if you play can help make you look loke a quality starter. That's a better gamble than sticking on the back of the Texans or Bucs, where you'll be set up to fail if you do get onto the field.

Some truly don't understand the difference between shopping a player and listening to offers.

Shouldn't be hard to understand, unfortunately some need to push a narrative

We will see. I think and some Jack Off had this take also, Sam and TL will compete and Sam will have to win it pretty clearly, if it's close it goes to TL. I was on record we would add a FA with a lot of starts, which we did, and on record it will be a comp, which it will. It's a near 50/50 imo. Sam is much more veteran, the org has more tied into TL tho.

Who is that and why should I care what he says? Darnold ain't picking up Kyle's playbook in 2 months, and knowing what I do about him, I would bet my house and everything I own that he would play Trey over a guy reading WCO For Dummies.

He covers 49ers for a living, kinda like us here on the WZ, yet he gets paid and we don't

TL can improve but SD can learn it that's why KS hired him, he learns a new system every season

Mr Hammer just tweeted this

Yeah sorry, posting his tweets lends zero credence to his opinion. If Matt said it I'd probably listen, but I'd also believe Matt.

Jack Hammer is a sharp guy.

OK, convince me. Has he ever scooped one of the real beat writers? Has he ever scooped anything with truth to it?

He's the guy that spotted this, for example:

Jack isn't stupid but he does post with agendas. Pretty easy to manipulate people when you know what you're talking about and cherry pick things.

I'm curious what his point on that clip was too. Cuz I definitely prefer the Lance version.

That Trey Lance throws to the open guy and isn't afraid to throw down field.

Ok then we're on the same page with that.

We got Brandon Allen! I'm sure you'll love screaming let's go Brandon!

Now poor Trey Lance may be QB4 after that signing? Right?

Why is that funny? Lol I'm confused? If you're putting yourself in an UDFA spot, I wouldn't sign here. It's a great team and coaching staff Id much rather sign elsewhere with a better shot. At least not if I was one of the more sought after guys. If you don't have anyone calling, then you have no choice.

we ended up signing a veteran qb today.

Hoping some one gets injured is dumb and not a way to start your career. Lol
