QB3 needs to be capable of winning. That means you have to sweeten the deal to get a good guy to join. Including a promise of a real opportunity to compete for the two and one job.

You're reiterating exactly what I said in my post.

He's not a project, just injured

Dude, you always have the worst takes...how in the world is a glorified high school QB who has basically never played meaningful time in college or the NFL NOT a project.

That's not characterizing it's just a fact. He's more of a project than the last pick of the 7th round was for the 49ers. It's just the truth.

It is not "just the truth". It is just your opinion.

Regarding your other comment, Lance took his team to the 2020 NCAA Division I Football Championship Game and was named the MVP.
exactly, and he doesn't know what a project is
Trey Lance is the definition of a project.
nope, His injury stopped him playing. not his play
That doesn't change the fact that he was and is a project, him playing doesn't automatically take away the project label.

Rich Gannon

I was gonna say Randall Cunningham but then it turns out he was already a star in Philly. But then he had the one MVP year and then retired two years later.

Of course the most obvious one: John Elway. First he was a Colt then he was a Bronco 🤣

Elway never took a snap for the Colts.

it does, Lance would have sat another year if he was a project

Well on that note Eli manning and Philip rivers belong on this list.

Lost track of the parameters but I suspect Drew Brees should be in there.

speaking of draft season, it will forever blow my mind that team landed LaDainian Tomlinson round 1, Drew Brees round 2, and they won jack s****
that is a dynasty level draft

I mean, they're the same team that managed to have both the #1 overall offense and defense in a season and somehow miss the playoffs. The Chargers are weird.

The playoff losses they had in '04 and '06 were incredibly rough. They probably go on to win the Super Bowl if Marlon McCree doesn't fumble back his interception of Brady in the '06 divisional round. That team was one of the better teams to not win from the decade.

*Losing as the 2 seed to Rex Ryan's defense and The Sanchize in 09 was horrific as well*

I was about to say the same thing.

I disagree draft status dictated he start last year that decision was made when the previous season ended if not the day he was drafted it was the plan all along.

hard not to think of the million ways those picks could have been used to get this thing over the line to 1 or 2 SB wins these past 2 seasons, so I respectfully disagree
