QB play is a massive part of it. Being able to have good pocket awareness. Avoid guys and extend is massively underrated by a handful of people in here.

It cant be the oline, because they prioritized it. Or maybe they prioritized it, and they just sucked at it? Maybe prioritizing the oline with jouneymen centers, late round picks and mediocre right right guards isnt the best way to prioritize?

And how do you rank an oline? Clearly keeping the qb healthy is not a factor, because theyd be dead last.

Every other team knows that to keep a qb healthy you have to a good oline. Tom Brady was never touched when he was at New England. But us? 4 qbs get destroyed, and we have people claiming this is a top 10 oline.

I said the oline would be the death of this team during the preseason. Heres to hoping they "prioritize" better.

If you think every QB injury or hit is solely because of OL play then we have no conversion here. I'm not gonna break it all down (again) for you.

it's lazy an simple minded to think that's the only reason.

You could blame every RB injury on the O line as well if you want to blame someone. Who gets blamed for the defensive players who get hurt? We've has seasons where every DB or every LB has been injured at one time or another. Who's fault is that?

That's just a list of the 1st rounders that didn't work out or play up to expectation. Bosa isn't on the list either.

His 2 and 4 comment presumably is a 'record' of their success, with Bosa and Aiyuk being the successful two, and Trey not included because it's too early to grade.

How does the 2 and 4 compare to the rest of the league? Is it average or below average? Its hard to judge something without something else to compare it to.

Be my guess. But I think it would throw this thread off topic.

But you're missing the point of why I posted Lynch and Shanahan's picks in the 1st round.

(Edit)

What was the point of the statement other than to take a jab at the FO for their 1st round picks? How they have faired compared to the rest of the league is very relevant.

Like others have said. Its not very honest of you to throw MM on the bad pick side when he will be signing a second contract for more than we can afford to offer him. That would actually make the FO 3-3 in the 1st round with Trey Lance still being an unknown at this point.

Yes the point was they have done more bad than good in the 1st round. And not how has Lynch compare to the rest of the league that wasn't the point.

As for McGlinchey, there were other ways they could've went besides RT, 49ers definitely could've used Minkah Fitzpatrick or Derwin James. I thought McGlinchey was being groomed to be the future LT, which IMO would've made the pick deemed worthy. You and I know McGlinchey wasn't worth the #9 overall pick, he's a horrible pass blocker and commits tons of penalties, not to mention has only managed to start 3 full seasons outta the 5 he's been in SF. Sure he'll most likely get a pretty solid contract, but that's because of inflation, demand and not how well he's performed.

Saying someone is bad at something without anything to compare it to makes it not credible in my book.

3-3 makes the FO 50/50 in the 1st round. With the jury still out on Trey Lance. I am willing to bet that 50/50 in the 1st round are actually good odds.

Right, blame this blame that…there's nuance in every single injury that happens.

Exactly! And pass rush for both teams was non existent in the SB due to those terrible field conditions.

There only issue is they don't prioritize oline

Posts like this drive me insane. Fake news.

-traded for the best LT in football made him the highest played player at his position.
-drafted a RT top 15
-trade for a former 1st rd pick at LG and developed him into a pro-bowler
-spend elite money at center a couple years ago
-spent a top 50 pick on a LG.
-spent numerous picks on the OL.

They just came off a season where they were ranked top 10 all over the place at offensive line.

So what is the excuse for having 4 qbs knocked out? Just wondering what your thoughts are. Is it just bad luck? Is it the blocking scheme? Is it just a coincidence? Do all our qbs have injury issues? The field, the field, the field. Not to mention Mahommes has elite pocket awareness.

Hmm. That explanation is like going around the equator to borrow a cup of sugar from your neighbor.

You don't see this as a wylie vs mcg issue? Wylie literally sat on reddick at least one play. Brute force should make it on our draft board occasionally.

The best way to fix a problem is to blame everything equally, helps nail it down

Wylie is not a good pass blocking RT. He's about as avg as it gets there. You talk about skinny OTs, dude is 300lbs soaking wet. There is no "brute force" coming from him on the regular.

And linemen were like 260lbs

I am sure they were more aware of him and better prepared for him than we were after they witnessed the butt kicking we endured
