That's just a list of the 1st rounders that didn't work out or play up to expectation. Bosa isn't on the list either.

His 2 and 4 comment presumably is a 'record' of their success, with Bosa and Aiyuk being the successful two, and Trey not included because it's too early to grade.

How does the 2 and 4 compare to the rest of the league? Is it average or below average? Its hard to judge something without something else to compare it to.

I didn't make the comment, I was attempting to clarify it.

I personally don't think it's all that useful to isolate performance by rounds. I would hope that we can all agree that Kyle and the FO have done an excellent job building up the roster from what they took over in 2017... in spite of 4 disappointing first rounders.

5 all pros drafted in 6 years is doing it at a pretty good rate. Not sure anyone else in the division, for example, has drated.more than 1 in that time.

When you get so fixated on where those players are coming from you miss the forest from the trees.

Definitely agree, and this thinking should extend beyond evaluating how successful we've been in the draft.

I totally agree with you. I love our roster. John and Kyle have done a fine job building it. The FO seems very intuitive and smart with the cap. We have a great culture. It seems very sustainable.

There only issue is they don't prioritize oline

Not objectively true.

The only group on this team you can argue they don't prioritize is the secondary.

Sure. I guess since that is the only group they haven't selected a 1st rounder. But we did go out and get Mooney Ward in FA who was one of the top 3 CB's going into the 2022 off season.

They have also prioritized the O line as well. Not just with the selection of MM in the first round but with the trading for TW as well.

If the miss to Sanders was forgivable, this isn't, and I will NEVER root for that guy again if it's true.

Jimmy was more worried about his own health and impending free agency

They've done more bad than good when it comes to the 1st round.

Solomon Thomas
Reuben Foster
Mike McGlinchey - Good run blocker, meh pass blocker looks like a 4th round pick
Javon Kinlaw

2 and 4 in the 1st round.

You have a point but hilarious you kept Aiyuk off the list to make your point.

I said 2-4.

Nick Bosa and Brandon Aiyuk makes two. I didn't think I needed to list the ones he hit on or did he not hit with the Aiyuk pick??

First or Second rounder in their entire tenure. 9ers and Commanders are only teams in that timeframe not to use a 1st or 2nd on a defensive back.
