He's going to have a significant head start on prep. What he does with that head start is up to him.

He already had a two year head start and Brock still came in and took over. Damn shame he got hurt

Trey had a significant head start this year on JG and JG stepped right in and won 70% of the games. Purdy has already shown that he wins 100% of the games he completes. Lance has only won 1 of his games that he completed. There is no contest. If Purdy is healthy, he starts otherwise FO will hire someone else to start

Everyone knows that Trey hasnt given us much so far, if anything. No one is debating that. What we are defending is the baseless posts like "he will never be any good" or "he is a bust" or "we will lose if he is our QB." And the funny thing is, the people who are defending against those posts are not even saying you are wrong. They are just saying you need to wait and see....and that its completely unfair to have those type of opinions at this point in his career.

No one is claiming he is good or saying he definitely will be. Just firing back against the illogical posts that "he wont be ___" based on the limited amount we have seen him play.

Trey fanboy tend to get technical and argue Trey won against the Seahawks, and Purdy lost against the Eagles.

That is an honest take on Lance's output here. The question is really given the hype, his draft cost and what he has failed to deliver why should he be given an opportunity ahead of Purdy if Purdy is healthy? Odds are Purdy will be healed on ready by pre-season. Lance does not have a chance of starting if that is the case. You would agree with that wouldn't you?

So basically your claim goes from 'countless people' were happy about injury to maybe someone was cuz it's not unfathomable.. pretty weak.

No one is cheering injury dude. If you see it call it out.. it's not common and pretty sick imo.

The guy that is claiming that people were cheering an injury is one of the three guys on here that claim someone said something with no proof but also deny everything they say when they are wrong. They think they are right about everything and their opinion is the only thing that matters. Also be careful cause they will hit the report button on you.

but it's hilarious they have some random guy trying to defend them against you lol
MODS POST on September 18th:

Just a heads up after Trey's injury

1. People celebrating/joking about the Lance injury

2. People here to troll/incite for any reason

Are being shown the door. Don't be that guy(gal/person).

+++++++ Why would he need to say that if the bolded comment above was true? +++++++++++

Posts from September, 18th... right after Lance was injured.

Start of year 3 I don't think hype or draft status means anything. best outcome for the team is the only thing that matters.

If both were healed and ready in a week then Purdy by a mile, but we just have no idea what's going to happen or what Kyle is going to see from Lance between now and six months, assuming that Purdy's injury is best case. That's where the questions can be asked because six months is an eternity in the NFL whether we're playing games or not.

Personally IDGAF if it's Purdy or Trey and IDGAF if one of them has hurt feelings because they're the backup. If Kyle thinks "this is the guy to win us games" then I'm all on board with whoever that is.

I just want to win, but too may posters on here seem to be more interested in "being right" or having their "expertise" validated than what's the best outcome for the team.

The real best outcome is that both Purdy and Trey come back healthy, look incredible in training camp/preseason and at the very least have higher trade value whenever the time comes where we might have to let one go.

Taking pleasure in a player failing when they're on the team you support is pretty sad (and I've done it in the past as well, it was just as sad then as it is now).

It is pathetic, not just sad. It was a terrible thing to happen to Trey as it was to Jimmy and now Purdy.

Troy Aikman went 0-11 his rookie year in 1989.

Here's what you're ignoring, those guys were on terrible teams, particularly Aikman and the Cowboys. None of those examples really apply.

We saw what Purdy was able to do as a 7th round rookie coming off the bench. That at minimum is the standard that Lance should be held to going into his third season on an NFL roster.

We don't even have the complete roster of next year's team. Alot of time between now and then to fill the roster in.

As we saw between 2019 and 2020, every single year can be different. No imaginary "standards" with Purdy taking over this well-oiled machine mid-year,...and how it applies INSTANTLY to next year. Entertain yourself with it,...but all of that stuff is null and void,...and these things can wait till we actually have a full roster intact and have played a couple games.

We've already seen his floor. Checkmark.

Now,...he needs to play well and he needs to improve game by game. That is the only standard for now.

Didn't mean to RUSH his development, but Purdy's performance just made the pressure on Baby Lance heavier..

If he doesn't get close to getting Shanny another 2nd Place Trophy, questions will arise when and if Purdy comes back.

If a 7th round rookie can get it done, Lance should have no problem getting it done too.

100%

In no way, shape, or form is Purdy the standard, lol.

Guys like Patrick Mahomes and Josh Allen (it looks like),...Brady @ his peak,...those are "standards."

Not some rook that had a great run on a loaded team mid-year. Talk like this couldn't be any more off-base with reality.

Trey only has to be Trey. He's the more talented player anyway. The hope is that the roster fills in like it did for this year's team,...which was clearly an upgrade over last year.

But as said before,...let's stop pretending like we're about to kickoff the 2023 season next week,...lol. Has Brock even had surgery yet and was it successful??!

Who's the #2 guy when next year begins with all of this "PRESSURE" Trey is under to at least be Purdy's clone? And does he have the same quality defense to support his efforts all year? Alot of moving parts so guys jumping the gun for what's "EXPECTED" game 1 next year are far offbase.
