Like I said, Purdy is the standard. Lance should be able to perform to at least that level by the end of the season.
If a 7th round rookie can get it done, Lance should have no problem getting it done too.
Get exactly what "done"? What standard? You mean a Superbowl victory? Being undefeated in every game started?
Besides, conditions are rarely ever the same. Purdy inherited a healthy team that was humming on all cylinders having had more than half the season to smooth out the kinks. The competition was less than stellar to boot. Will next year's team be similarly dominant and injury free vis a vis the competition? Long odds on that happening.
Consider: Garoppolo in his first season, without the benefit of any training camp and with limited familiarity in the Shanahan system, went undefeated over the last five games of the season. Arguably against better competition and without playoff caliber teammates. Now the organization is running him out of town.
Putting up a seemingly "objective" standard to measure against is problematic at best.
Supporters of the team should be happy if the QB plays well and wins games. Evaluation of the QBs contribution boils down to the "eyes" test. And people will only see what they want to see.
