Well when you get to hand-select your own GM,...what do you call it?

49ers need to pay Brock good moneyz $$$

They can't while he is on his last pick rookie contract even if they wanted to. Same as they have to keep paying Lance millions to be Purdy's assistant

Gonna be a long season for you, my friend.

Yep I will have to listen to a lot of belly aching about "why won't they start Lance. They just got to give him a chance". It is going to happen all season long while Purdy is balling and Lance is warming.

Especially if he really is a transcendental type player. A lot of what ifs, sure, but I like the idea of finding out for ourselves rather than him never having a good chance with us.

This x 100000000

Same exact sentiment I have on the whole situation.

I wanna see what Lance is or isn't for myself before we trade him. Brock going down will allow this so as long as Brock will come back at 100% of what he was when he played this is a silver lining to see what Trey is. If he is underwhelming like Jimmy was we can rock with Brock and make the switch.

.... and this is why it's almost like a bitter sweet sacrifice...

While Purdy is recovering, and still say let him sit for the entire 23 season and hope that Baby Face Trey can stay healthy and not be asked to run the " QB Gap ", and that he gets to showcase his talent...

We do need to bring a veteran just what like English ( who would not PM me back for whatever reason considering his a Moderator ) posted, a guy like Darnold..

BUT if I was running the show, I'd do a 3-way trade.

Lance to Houston - 2nd overall pick to Green Bay - Aaron to SF

If Trey suffers another injury, I'm confident in Purdy coming in again and thrilled we have him on the team. In that scenario, I'm with you and hope he is balling!

We don't need geriatric old age pensioners like Aaron or Tom. We need a younger vet who can win at least 70% of his games....
I understand why this thread was locked lol

Not sure I like the Darnold idea, but definitely on board with bringing in a vet. Since both Trey and Brock are mobile, I'd like to see one who has similar traits.

Not exactly a ringing endorsement by Niner brass for Lunch Trey.... translation: "Trey Lance has much to prove if he is going to stay on this roster"

Can you stop calling him Lunch Trey? What does that even mean?

Yeah, just lame.

If anything, call him 'Treyning Wheels', which is clever as it pertains to his perceived lack of readiness.

Lol it is not Trey's team. Purdy will be all fixed up and take up where he left off. Lance has only proved he can beat the worst team in the league but not the second worst. 49ers deserve a QB who can win more than 33% of their games completed.

Trey will be a Texan anyway,... remember?

No you wouldn't make that trade because GB and Houston wouldn't go for it. They wouldn't even consider it.

We bring in Aaron and he can run the show for 3 years (max) while Purdy is recovering for the entire 23 season.. w/the extra picks we get from Houston, lets hope that we can land someone from the draft..

You never know, Lance can be a BUST in Houston and that will land us the 1st overall pick in 2024.. Do you know which QB is headed as the 1st overall pick then?

Some guy from USC !!!
