Pretty sure on the tv broadcast when it happened they mentioned JG is a guy obviously who knows our stuff and gives us a chance to win. That's not at all to be interpreted as 'countless ppl extremely happy' TL got hurt, which was WBs words. Let's get real.
Who cares what some TV broadcast says…we're talking about OUR FANS. People that are suppose to support their young players. Not s**t on them after playing 4QRs and breaking their ankle. How that all of a sudden turned into the season was "saved" or Lance is done here…is beyond me. SF made a decision to make him the starter. Not Jimmy.
In reality the only people going that route were the people that couldn't keep it real with what Jimmy was and understood why the team wanted to move off him. It's always comes back to some people being so emotional about him, being threaten of any QB taking his spot or anyone casting doubt about him after multiple years playing here.
Oh stop belly aching. Jimmy fans do not hate Lance because Lance started instead of Jimmy this year. But people were expressing they were not impressed by Lance's performance when he did play. That is a legitimate take given he did not make more that 50 percent completions this year. Had a low QB rating, did not look like an NFL starter and so on. That does not mean they hated Lance. That means they were not impressed by his performance. Lance tragics made all the excused in the world and in particular said he should be given time to develop. But Purdy came out balling and won everything but the game his elbow got torn. Face it Lance is not an NFL caliber ready player and the 9ers are not going to waste SB roster on a kid who has not played but a handful of games in 3 years.
The 9ers handed TL the team last year and will yet again this year. So one of those statements in your last sentence is completely false.
The 49ers aren't Fantasy Football you know. Lance won't get another chance at starting while Purdy is around. BP's arm will be fine by the start of the season and Lance will be his assistant until his rookie contract expires
Doesn't matter what you THINK will happen. The 49ers handed Trey Lance the team last year also. It's a fact. So which of those statements isn't true? Either they handed him the team knowing he wasn't NFL ready and would waste a SB roster, which you said they wouldn't do, or he was and is NFL ready. Which is it?
