I don't blame anyone for not believing in or being skeptical of Trey. I've never said once that I know for sure that he will be great (or good), or that I know he would have made the playoffs with this team, or that he would have won the Super Bowl.
Meanwhile, everyone and their mama makes negative predictions about Lance and everyone acts like it's a fact.
His rookie season, the common narrative was that if we started Trey, it would result in a wasted season.
His second season, he gets injured in week 2, and countless posters were extremely happy that it happened so Jimmy could "save our season", assuming Trey would have missed the playoffs had he remained the starter.
Now this year, if we start Trey, we will have wasted another SB run.
All of this is with the context that we haven't won a SB since I was in diapers.
Best post I've seen in awhile, bunch of truth bombs 💣

Lol ppl applauding this.
It's a poor post imo and a reason there is such a divide in these threads. I can say I value JG as he has a proven record of leading us to wins in SF. I can also say I get ppl wanting to move on as I wanted to move on from Alex back in the day to CK. I would never say that ppl who feel different from me are 'extremely happy' about injury. I feel ppl with dif opinions are good ppl who just happen to have dif opinions about the club. Not malicious ppl cheering injury. That's a pretty dim view of fellow posters and uncalled for.

This. People are going to remain skeptical of him until he proves that they shouldn't be.
The only minds I'm worried about are Kyle and John. So long as they're good with Trey I'm good with him. So long as he's in a Niner uniform I'm rooting for him and any other QB we suit up

Well 95% of us will actually back up what we're saying. e.g.,...someone quoted me an article yesterday that I'd never seen about Shanny telling the team to get behind the rook as they saw Jimmy as the #2 guy. I think it was right after our 1st loss. I'd never seen it before....so that was useful to their argument and I shut up about the subject.
But there's a couple here and there that just post over and over and never are interested in any legit replies.
I think it's good that we separate those that really do want to argue a point with those that are only interested in ruining a thread.

So suggesting logically that our win odds are better with QB1 than QB2, while not known, makes sense. Teams over time do better with QB1 vs QB2, not always though as we just saw with Brock.
No one was 'extremely happy' he was injured. You make an insinuation ppl who feel differently than you at the QB spot are malicious ppl. It's just not the case. And I have seen posters say I hope JG gets injured, in 2021 and in 2022 I saw that from Zeek. But I won't attribute that to ppl unless they say it outright, otherwise, it's not called for imo.
It was the idea that Lance wasn't ready to be a starting NFL QB YR1. Kyle even stated the best scenario is having a situation where you're not forced to start the rookie like in KC.
You were all over the place. Jimmy is the best, he was on his way out now is Lance's time…you said he's gonna have like 100 TDs and 5,000 yards. He gets hurt after 4 QRS of football, now he's had his chance and we need to look elsewhere. How can anyone take anything you say about this seriously?

I do as well. Especially after only 4 starts and a 2-2 record where we were only 1.5 games into developing him at the young age of 22 years old!
imagine had PHI given up on Hurts where they'd be right now
Some here can't give Lance a season to grow after having invested 3 first round draft picks on the guy. When a coach gives up that much on a one year starter he isn't expecting HOF play year one. That's telling you he wants to groom the guy as a long term starter
This stuff ain't rocket science

You just admitted that someone was happy Jimmy got hurt (which I saw as well), but it's unfathomable to believe someone was happy Trey got hurt?
