Allen was drafted by THE BILLS...a perpetually bad team. His ascent is part of what has made that franchise take a turn and become so formidable.

Lance is on a loaded Niners team that went to the super bowl in 2019 and the championship game in 2021.

Not apples to apples at all. Completely different players, situations, and arbitrary stat comparison.

THE BILLS went to the playoffs the season before Allen was drafted with Tyrod Taylor at QB.

How tf is that a ridiculous take? That's just proof how qbs take time to develop and it's been shown for decades from plenty of great qbs. And who gives a damn if Trey has a stacked team, a young qb in his 2nd year still has plenty to learn from reading defenses to the speed of the game. Just because you're on a good ass roster doesn't mean you should come in and look like a pro bowler right away especially as someone as raw as Trey. It's beyond crazy how people expect a lot of these qbs to come in right away and play like a qb whose in their 4th year plus.

I think the difference is that is not just Trey's decision making, it's also his slow release and wind up. He needs to fix that asap

Like I asked yesterday when I posted that production efficiency chart and you disappeared. In what quantifiable way is Fields better than Trey Lance?

Exactly it's gonna take some time regardless how good the team is around him. Even though the team around him didn't help him out much in week 1. The kid needs time to develop and maybe it won't take a few years. He can look better and better each game this season just gotta let him play and develop.
He hasn't really shown flashes of being a stud qb! I will take him being an average qb w legs. We don't need him to be Josh Allen!

It's not like Allen came out of nowhere to be this good. He was the 7th pick of the draft for a reason and they traded #12 (from Cincinnati) and two 2nd round picks up to get him so they must have felt that he'd be pretty damn good.

Its ONE f**king player. Its an outlier. The fact that people say "well josh Allen was s**tty" as an argument that trey will be good is probably the stupidest f**king argument I've ever seen. For every josh Allen I can name 100 qb busts with the same stats. Stop reaching.

Enough about outliers. We have plenty enough liars here in this thread as it is.

Lots and lots of QBs have looked crappy at the beginning of their career to go on and be good to great players.

Amen!

I think It's more concerning that he hasn't really Improved since the end of last season.
You'd expect more from a QB who was drafted 3rd overall.

You have seen 3 games. Three. Whats concerning is fans expecting a world of difference in 3 games.

Today will be his first consecutive start. I think not having to re-familiarize to the speed of the game can help. Hope he gets decent protection on most snaps this week.
