Lol I like Fields (he was my pick) but he wasn't anything special at all yesterday. Dude was given two broken coverages that turned into TDs. His INT was worse then Trey's imo. Fields would have lost the game all the same with an extra 100 yards of penalties.

using first take to prove anything is incredibly lame.

He absolutely was special. That spin out of the sack and knowing where his 5th receiver was was Mahomes esque..if you're interested, watch his presser and listen to his breakdown.

At the end of the day, side by side, Fields looked MUCH better than Lance. The Bears have maybe the worst skill position groups in the NFL and Fields MADE them win. Lance has one of the best, with a "genius" playcaller, a great offensive line and had the ball at midfield every possession and somehow gave the game away. I've watched all the breakdowns of the game from the experts, they all echo that sentiment.

I know it's Deebo but they weren't scoring on that play anyways. I don't know why Kyle didn't have Trey chuck it into the endzone. He has the arm for it and maybe get a fluke catch or draw a P.I call.

Dak looked worse than Lance last night. Just sayin

In alot of ways, Fields did worse to. Let's not be fooled by that 1 blown coverage. Outside of two passes he didn't do anything. And was bailed out by 3 penalties that kept the drives going. He completed 8 passes the entire game and only 3 of them to WR's. He didn't even rush for that much, He had 28 yards on 11 carries which is 2.5 yards a carry. All in all Trey had 208 yards with 1 pick and Fields had 149 with 1 pick. Now Fields statline looks better because he had the 2 TD's and Trey had none.

Our QB who we spent more for took ahead of Fields overthrew the ball when the Bears had a blown coverage. Both QBs yesterday had to play in s**t conditions. Both QBs had a pass rush in their face. 1 QB made plays when they were there.

All 3 of his TD's were a result of the Niners committing a penalty after getting a stop on 3rd down. If not for those undisciplined penalties he would have scored 3 points that game.

We could have theoretically had Fields and a 1st round pick this year and next year for two chances at a good offensive lineman. Assuming it would have taken the 3rd rounder to move up a spot. Instead, we wanted the project QB for whatever headscratching reason.

The bears were up 13 to 10. The niners had the ball. What does Lance do? Throws a lame ass interception. That was the loss there. It had nothing to do with penalties which is just an excuse. Unacceptable turnover at the worst time.

And to hear them say he's not josh allen, he's not athletic, and he doesn't have the arm talent makes me cringe. I'm chalking this loss up to the penalties and weather and Lance's growing pains. But damn if he plays like hell next week against a s**tty seaheaks team at home? Heads are going to roll. But i can see more excuses next week

Ftr i picked Fields ahead of Lance and Mac and after Trevor and Zach with my 2021 mock but will not hold judgement until we have an appropriate sample size with Trey. Heck even the lowly Jags curbstomped the high and mighty Bills last season.
Oh…so that's what a 43.1 QBR looks like, thanks Trey…let's not do that again, okay, now we know…
This is just 1 game. And Lance can turn it around obviously but this was not a good game at all. And those defending him have an agenda.

What I've seen has been pretty meh. High level physical traits, poor feel, inconsistent thrower….and I was high on Trey when they drafted him so I'm not a hater.

He's very fortunate that the Niners drafted him…because if he was drafted by a below average organization, I'm not sure he would make it. I do think Shanahan will turn him into at least a league average starting QB…hopefully more than that though given how much they gave up to get him.

I don't see poor feel what so ever. Not for a guy that's played as little football as he has. His feel in the pocket is actually pretty good. Again making any meaningful takes from this game is kinda pointless.

there's gonna be a lot of football this yr and people will get a true understanding of what he has and doesn't have yet by the end of the year.

And Trey would have been called a bum for having 23 yards passing into late 3rd quarter like Fields did. Penalties were the difference in the game. If the bears had 100 yards in penalties they don't score a touchdown.

It's wasn't a good game in general. Not sure what people were expecting in those conditions with that many penalties?

also it's not defending its calling it was…and wash out slop fest. Just like last yr when we had that monsoon vs INDY, I can't objectively judge QB play there.
Bears cracked the code in 1st game, we are going to see 8 and 9 man boxes and make TL throw the ball until he gets benched:

"Bears cornerback Jaylon Johnson says the game plan against 49ers quarterback Trey Lance on Sunday was simple: Make him throw the football."
Fields wouldn't have the mentality to handle the pressure that would come with being a QB of this franchise. Right now he has zero pressure in Chicago. Also I don't think he completed a single pass yestarday inside the pocket. I think that's the biggest reason Kyle never had him on his radar, Fields don't like making throws inside the pocket.

Pretty sure this was plastered everywhere after that Colts loss.
