The way people talk about week 17, you'd swear Trey missed 15 passes. The kid is going to be fine. pic.twitter.com/u0RadAq2c6

Sounds like Trey will be staying in the Bay Area for at least another week and working out with the rookies and 2nd yr guys.
See he's not ready. Dude needs another week to prepare.

the big difference between Trey and JG was the flow of the offense. It was much smoother and more first down conversions (or they got closer to a first down conversion) when JG was in. I think that's just experience and all that for Trey, so I'm not worried at all.
im very excited to hear about his improvement so far this off season and am super excited for all of us fans this year

Anyways, back to Trey. Great to hear that he's at the team facilities for another week to get more work in.
Talented people who study and work hard at there craft never fail, it's going to be a great season!
He's literally doing everything right, really impressive to see from a 22 year old. He's going to be a long-term quality QB! Now the question is "is he good enough right now to win a championship, because we have a roster that's top-5?".
This. I for one wouldn't mind keeping J* for insurance but Trey has taken the leadership role and has done everything in his power to snatch any questions I had a month ago out of my mind. As you said, thus far he has done everything right and is leading by example. I've always said it's his job to lose and for me personally, I think he's shown enough that it's time the franchise officially and openly hands him the keys.
I can't pretend to know how Trey thinks but I know that I wouldn't want Jimmy sitting on the bench just waiting for me to have a rough game. When you're young and inexperienced you have enough to worry about without wondering if you're going to be pulled the first time you screw up. Learning for a rookie is already tough. No need to put that extra pressure on him.
You honestly think Trey is that fragile? I don't buy it, he's supposed to be mature for his age.

The issues wasn't the misses (or drops). The issue was the offense had only scored 3 points through 3Q IIRC??? Then the 4Q hit and the offense got in rhythm.

I believe it was 10 through 3 but I don't know if that was a Trey problem the offense in general last year seemed to have their fair share of slow starts even with Jimmy

Agreed. And going forward, it would be natural to be clunky for a new QB followed by some explosives and rhythm all within one game.

So, it was okay for Jimmy to go through that exact same scenario last year but Lance shouldn't have to do it because he is young and impressionable. Got it.
Jimmy remaining on the team as a back up is an unlikely hypothetical scenario, the Jimmy fan club is now at the bargaining stage of the 5 stages of grief.
Depression comes next when he's released from the team, and finely acceptance when the Niners have success without him.
Well, typically for your sort, you're missing the point. Personally, I am of the opinion that, if the team believes Lance is their guy and is ready to go there isn't much upside to bringing Jimmy back this year. I was just pointing out the usual hypocrisy and double standard that have become the norm of certain posters on this particular topic.

Think there was only two 3 and outs that whole game (one was the first series of the game).

The drops were a real thing too. Early and throughout. The passes were there.

The throw to Aiyuk in the end zone was awesome. Too bad he couldn't come down with it.

DB had his hand pinned, got away with PI.

Aiyuk was able to draw a PI on a deep pass (37 yard penalty). Hope to see more of these 'freebies' this season.

WR's have to get a handle on the Trey heat missiles. Those rockets are going to have to be handled with Asbestos Gloves.
