Right I remember when he said it. He also said something to the fact that he could be on the roster for more than one yr.

my point is it doesn't really matter what Jed says, it's not really his cash. It's the players revenue. They just determine where it gets allocated too. I mean you could get technical and say the signing bonus is coming right out of his pocket because it's given to them as soon as they sign.

I agree I don't imagine they will keep him on the roster, I'll actually be shocked if he takes another snap in a SF uniform (in TC).

Read the post directly above yours.

And yes, he's a progression QB.

Ah, I see.

He has sometimes shown that he hesitates though, like the slants play in which he scrambled and completed the first anyway. But he's also correctly run that play.

Totally!

Nice work NC, I'm curious about the clock and pre snap management. I don't think we had a single delay of game or Timeout to save one with Trey in (I remember commenting on that for the Texans game) where did you see it?

I also didn't see the one read and gun you talk about, definitely saw him go through his progressions a good few times.

Thanks...just for fun during the downtime.

Actually yeah, for a rookie he did really well. I can't remember which game but he had to call a TO because the clock had run out. Also, things like his cadence or miscommunication on play calls might have lead to a couple false starts. But not positive...just something to watch for mostly in the 4 minute offense or if we go no huddle/hurry up.

The one read and gun is basically our offense because Kyle does such a masterful job of scheming open the primary. I saw some look offs and a couple progression reads but overall, he didn't have a ton of opportunities (nor needed them). The mass majority were quick one and two step drops (quick screens, outside and slants). The trusting of the primary can be a blessing and a curse.

This is what I hope Trey will become. A right handed Steve Young.

Also, it is the best thing they can do for Jimmy. Let him choose his where he goes next.

No offense but f that. I wish Jimmy well but odds are he winds up in Seattle or maybe Carolina. Both teams we play this year. I'm not worried about doing what's best for Jimmy after his team had him wait to get his surgery. They tried to force our hand.

If anything I'll see how the roster shakes out. Either I keep him on the roster and "rest" him, can't risk him getting hurt in practice or preseason as I believe that guarantees his deal. I wait and cut him right at the deadline to get to to 53.

This way at least he won't have too much time to learn the Seattle offense if he goes there(we play them week 2) plus it allows us to see if another team has an injury in camp/preseason or thinks their guys aren't as good as they thought and make a move.

But 100% I'm not letting Jimmy dictate anything at this point. Sorry dude, love ya, thank you for everything but all first team reps going to Trey. Jimmy can sit and wait to get traded or cut. But I'm making sure he's not on this roster come week 1.

So you are worried about playing the Jimmy lead Seahawks? I'm not. I would welcome it. No one knows Jimmy's strengths and weaknesses better than Shanahan.

Agreed. Never thought I'd see the day when 9er fans are worried about playing against Jimmy. I for one would love watching Jimmy throwing passes to our linebackers.

Right.

Screw Jimmy just like he tried to screw us this offseason. He basically ranked his own market and his earnings potential

He was petty and so shall we be

Jimmy is absolutely better than who they have right now, so while I'm not scared of him going there. I don't want him going there because he will make them better, so if he does end up there I'm waiting til last minute to cut him.

Don't make it into something it's not.

He's better than what they have. Crazy how 49ers fans want Seattle to get better. Jimmy just might know weaknesses for Shanny and Trey as well against a coach that owns Shanny. I'd rather play Geno personally.

Definitely, Jimmy isn't a world beater but i don't want him in seattle because he's easily better than what they have add the fact he knows the team in and out and can help seattle there

I wanted to sign Geno to back up Trey, he played better than Wilson and it's the reason why Wilson came back early from injury/surgery. The games and highlights are there on YT

i rather face jimmy the statue who can only throw towards the middle of the field than a quick twitch qb who can still scramble

You are aware that Seattle's oline is subpar at pass protection and the Niners pass rush is devastating, right?

And not only does Jimmy have lead feet, he routinely throws picks in practice. I'd honestly be concerned for his physical safety out there if he played against the Niners.

The Jimmy fan club is just delusional.

Jimmy was Kyle's weakness and that's why he eventually got replaced by another QB. Only time will tell If that QB takes us to the next level. Think positive

I'd be surprised If Jimmy lasted an entire season behind the Seahawks O-Line, If It's still as bad as I remember.
