If there's one thing mac jones does well, it's the touch pass. I think Bourne even described it as catching a pillow.

And I agree Mac has good touch, but we can't use ANY examples of him doing that unless the guys are completely covered and it's a 50/50 ball apparently.

My guess is because Mac and Trey will forever be linked for as long as Trey is still in the league.

Nope he was open like 5 yards with the ball was thrown. It wasn't tight coverage at all according to you…but continue to dig yourself in a hole.

Funny enough I wouldn't say that was a great touch pass. That was just a good pass and funny you post that game. I've said for a while that was Jones' best game in terms of making throws into contested windows. I saw someone making the claim Bourne is typically covered well…not with the Pats. Mac had a ton of easy looks that he took advantage of.
But fact is Mac does throw a pretty ball. His deep ball was a strength of his. The question was more what happens when defenses are able to pressure him and his WRs can't get open where he can't lob deep balls up there and has to thread big boy throws in.
Mac had 4 years at Bama with top level coaching. And seeing as he wasn't an Uber athlete he knew the things he had to work on to get anywhere. And he did so kudos to him.
Thing is Trey now gets to work on these things too and has ability Mac will never be able to replicate.
Jones went to a perfect spot for him outside of SF to Bill Belichick's Bama farm. But check how he did his first few starts? It wasn't exactly jaw dropping stuff.
Trey will show everyone what he can or cannot do soon enough. If I'm putting money on it, I'm saying he's successful in becoming a legit NFL QB. We'll see if he can get into the elite category but I think he can certainly help our team win a lot of games.
