Changed the way I evaluate the position.

Should have just listened to Waterbear.

I'm learning!

Because you're trying to beat this guy.

Didn't need to relive that thanks

Most overrated QB in NFL history.

Just trying to educate people. Hopefully others will be more receptive than someone we know.

Seems like we're reaching the point of diminishing returns. We've had enough agony.

I can attest that NYniner85 was way, WAY off on Mahomes.

Yup. So where a lot of people. To be fair what I had issue with was legit. Talent ended up being the bigger then all those issues

I think Mahomes and Allen were great learning moments for a lot of people to take the talent

*Talent PLUS character/background. Mahomes had not one but TWO pro athletes in his family/close friends circle. There was no doubt he would understand what it takes to be a professional athlete. And both those guys have character for days.

That's fine and I'm happy to hear that.

as far as Mac goes vs the Bills he most certainly was a reason they lost. Which is fine he's a rookie, if you want to talk about the good stuff you gotta be able to have a conversation about the bad stuff too.

If you want to put a loss squarely on a rookie qb when the defense gave up 47 points, almost 500 yards of offense and didn't force a punt all game, you must really hate him. As critical as I may be with Trey. Id never put that kind of loss on him.

I said he was a reason not the only reason. Why couldn't he put points on the board regardless of what the defense was doing anyway?

I could careless about Jones once he wasn't the pick. Like I said I watch a lot of NE football this yr (forced more or less) and overall the praise some give him in here is over the top.

Herbert got shutout by NE in 2020 45-0. Why couldn't he put points on the board regardless of what the defense was doing?

Yup that stuff kinda gets lost in the shuffle by fans during the draft process. Having the talent and intangibles. For me with Mahomes it was just the lack of mechanics, the WTF are you doing throws, and just going rouge on plays. It was literally backyard football BUT he found the right HC, right system, and roster to harness all that god given ability...would Mahomes be who he is if say Adam Gase drafted him in NJ? I mean his talent/drive might overcome all that s**t, but he might not have gotten to be him and that's what makes him great.

Kyle loves his scheme no doubt. I do think he's realizing he needs a guy that can both run his offense and make a play when s**t breaks down. Watching Josh Allen destroy you regardless of your defensive scheme being on point opened his eyes. Watching Mahomes be Mahomes in the SB opened his eyes. If he wanted just a robot that will only run his offense and offered you nothing if s**t breaks down then maybe McCorkle would have been the pick. Clearly he wanted more and hopefully we see it all come to fruition, if it does I don't see how this offenses doesn't become elite.

Having literally the worst OL in the NFL played a part I'm sure. I believe he was pressured on 44% of his drop backs which was his 2nd highest rate that yr.

As far as Mac vs the Bills, from what I saw and read...they simply weren't afraid of him throwing deep/outside the numbers which allowed them to leverage those in between the numbers throws he likes (sound familiar). They played man coverage and played up on their receivers. He was 2 for 10 with an INT vs man and had a QB rating of zero. Bills weren't biting on PA either. Now I'm not positive if more teams played this way down the stretch vs him but the Bills saw something and did their thing.

The whole reason Mac was even brought up in here was because of a NGS showing his passer rating vs league avg at different points in the field. You saw what he was good at and what he wasn't. Yes some of that is on the receivers and being able to separate, but it's also an indication of his strengths and weaknesses (which were discussed pre-draft all the damn time).

So many scribes hating on Lance. Problem is they have no clue about this team, never watched them with Garapollo, and just assume Lance blows. They don't know that we won in spite of Garapollo many times, not because of him. If Lance can just maintain even a level comparable with Jimmy, we will be fine. That shouldn't be that hard.
