Happy Birthday to our prior 21 year old rookie franchise QB prospect. I was one of his haters, but in hindsight I was wrong in my negative opinions..
He was talented but was thrown into the fire too soon and it wrecked his confidence, something he even admitted during his excellent TED Talk. Had he sat most of the year and was brought along slowly, as well as having better and stable coaching, he'd probably would have flourished sooner.
But he did make three pro bowls and made it to the NFCCG that Kyle Williams fumbled away, so overall not a bad career. More importantly, he's a winner in what matters most, his character.
With that, as much as I believe that Trey should have started last year and probably could have made the 2 explosive plays or scrambles to put the team over the top, it's just conjecture and pointless speculation as it's on to the next season.
And looking back at Trey, it was probably for the best that he sat and learned even though he was competent enough to start, as he wouldn't have so much pressure on his rookie shoulders.
Looking forward to next year, Trey will be ready as he's a 2nd year pro who appears to have been working hard all off-season.
After two heart breaking SB and NFCCG losses, I think they're due for a breakthrough.
Go Niners, and Alex, thank you.
