If you want to use those two starts as the baseline of Trey Lance going forward as not ready then why not use it to project what his year would have looked like for 17 starts.

He would have had:
4,100 passing yards
34 passing TDs
1,100 rushing yards
6 rushing TDs
17 interceptions

That would be without "knowing the playbook"

Is he raw or green? Heck yeah he is but the above is what a green Trey Lance could achieve. Even drop some of those numbers during the course of a season if you think the sample size is too small and say 3,700 yards passing with 28 passing TDs, and 600 rushing with 4 rushing TDs. That's pretty darn good. I like what we have to look forward too

Trey just needs to do what Jimmy has been doing. Hit receivers running slants and periodically go down field for 20 yard gains.

If Trey's ceiling is doing what Jimmy has been doing, we should be looking for a new QB already. Hopefully you just meant in 2022, with more improvements coming in 2023.

And BTW, Trey is going to be going downfield a lot more than Jimmy did. He already demonstrated that.

Start him off with minimal confusion - hit those slants and periodic throws down field. We are a running team so start him off with simple plays. Than as the year goes on, increase his passing attempts. By the end of the season, he'll be were we want him to be.

All those dudes either got all the reps from day 1 or half way through TC. They were FORCED to start.

Fields looked like absolute crap his first couple game as a starter AND he was splitting 1st team reps with Dalton. Go look at his first two games. He completed 46% and 30% of his passes. He was sacked 9 times.

Again you don't know s**t about what he did and didn't know regarding the playbook. We've been thru it. Cosell disagrees with you and so does Kyle.

You want to throw up subject takes…at the very least backup it up with legit facts or listen when someone else proves them.

So you are telling me Jimmy G is better than people like to admit to here on the WZ.

There we go, change the conversation after you've been proven wrong yeah in my statement above he's much better than CJ, Hoyer, Flacco. I'd say he's better than at least 11 "starters" who are currently setup to be the teams guy in 2022.

Who's saying he's bad? Speaking for myself I've called him an avg startable NFL QB. There's 32 "starting" positions in the league and not all QBs starting last yr should be legit starters in the NFL. Jimmy is a startable NFL QB.
