Yet this contradicts what Maiocco or Glazer are saying.
Its going to be a long offseason

Ouch. How is anyone able to play on that stuff? Like playing tackle football in a parking lot.

We have another chance at a SB run in 2022 for sure. We need Lance to be an average or better QB, trending upwards towards the end of the season and we should be in great shape. The NFC is much weaker than the AFC, with the Niners and Rams as the exception. I'm sure another team or two will join them, but it's not nearly a deaths row like the AFC.
Agreed. But whats the plan if trey needs some more baking? Roll with dalton?

He bails them out with his fast release. In 2019 with one of our better units we still got smoked a few plays a game. I wonder why we never have a brady offense line. That guy has had studs all 20 years up front
Trey will look like Patrick mahommes if we give him enough time.

Because we value run blocking over pass blocking on the right side under Kyle otherwise we'd still have Trent Brown.

I hate bringing negativity but can you quit lying about Trey starting the season over a "consideration" please? Jimmy was always the starter. That's not me hating Trey it's 100% fact. The plan was to sit Trey plain and simple. His good play led to consideration but a lot of things can be considered. I wanted steak and eggs this morning but saw chicken fried steak and it looked great and I considered it but it was steak and eggs regardless.
Shanny on who's starting
I'm not going to answer that because I feel like all you guys have to do is look how I've talked since July 27th, I think that was my opening day of press conference," Shanahan said Wednesday. "I almost wish I wasn't being hardheaded with it, but I feel like you guys are being a little hardheaded to keep asking. I feel like I've already answered it, so we'll keep it at that."
For a while," Garoppolo said when asked when he was told he'd be the 49ers' top signal-caller. "I told you guys a long time ago, I had a pretty good feeling about it. Kind of joked about it, but yeah, I always kind of knew where I stood and everything. And yeah, now it's official, I guess."

Does this mean that the notion that the 49ers never planned to start Trey and wanted him to sit and learn is false? Or maybe Trey impressed more than expected and opened the door to the possibility of starting.
No... If the plan was to start Trey he would've started. The plan all along was exactly what happened. Start Jimmy and stick with him until he failed or hit injured. It's been no secret.
The recent reports aren't saying that. They're saying Trey nearly made them change their plans. Two unfortunate injuries prevented that. Fortunate, if you're a Jimmy Cultist.
Lol how angry. You guys cant help but hate something, I guess it's other fans now that you can't with Jimmy. That's the divisive world we live in I guess. Always gotta hate.
Have you not been reading the thread?
What recent reports?
https://www.nbcsports.com/bayarea/49ers/nfl-rumors-49ers-trey-lance-considered-start-qb-until-preseason-injury
https://www.49erswebzone.com/articles/156354-jay-glazer-49ers-enamored-trey-lances-development/
Mostly from Glazer.
Can you please read posts more carefully. I said he almost made them CHANGE their plan. And their plan was to start Jimmy and let Trey develop in practice. That is no secret. They didn't try to hide that.
Me... Show me the word "plan" please...or where they planned to start Trey.
I've considered a lot of things. I went to get my annual eye exam yesterday and I considered contacts instead of glasses. Was I serious about it? No but it was worth a consideration but the plan all along was glasses. A consideration is far from making a plan. They considered Trey, were they serious about it? If they were he'd start. There were plenty of chances but they didn't. They...stuck..to...the...plan... Which was the plan since day one. That's not true. You seem to be conveniently forgetting the injuries that happened at the very moment it was most likely they would move on from Jimmy. And because of Trey's injury, Jimmy got another chance and did not squander it. That's what happened. Trey got hurt, giving Jimmy another chance, and Jimmy capitalized on it, playing outstanding against the Bears.
THIS is why people mock you guys so much. Are you kidding me? Trey had a KNEE injury. If you can't move you can't play — especially if your game is moving behind the line and scrambling. You can adjust your release to deal with a thumb or a light shoulder injury. But if you can't even back peddle, how are you supposed to play at all? ESPECIALLY if a big part of your game is your movement. And the entire point here is that a HEALTHY Trey could be better than Jimmy on a bad streak. But an injured Trey who can't run? No way he's better than Jimmy.
Injuries though. Jimmy played over Trey with multiple that clearly hampered him.
Seriously man. These takes are why these threads have thousands of responses.
That's not a dig on Trey but it's proof that they followed the plan. It's proof that different injuries have different limitations.
If considering something was actually changing plans, we'd have Mac Jones right now, but... Stay with me... Trey was the plan. Mac was a consideration.False equivalency. There were no extenuating circumstances forcing the team to make a particular choice. No injuries or unavailability. No four game losing streak.
And again, no one said they changed plans. Only that they thought about it, and likely would have had Trey not hurt his knee. And again, you can play with a thumb. You can't play with a knee.
Here's the post I quoted to before you butted in.
"Does this mean that the notion that the 49ers never planned to start Trey"
No... Trey was never the plan. He was considered but the plan was Jimmy all along. Why that made you so aggressive is beyond me
Probably an entire year of "Jimmy is better than Stafford" or "Trey Lance is a bust."
Cool. Go ruin the Jimmy thread if you need to vent your frustrations. We're all behind Trey here. Can you not ruin this thread please?
Your name is literally mocking him. Don't pretend like you're on the Trey bandwagon now. You still want Jimmy here next year. Also, this thread has already been ruined by the absurd take that Trey needs two more years to develop.
I made this account knowing his day was coming in full support of him.
Trey has already improved more in a span of 11 games than Jimmy did in five years, so I highly doubt I'll be "hating" Trey. I loved Jimmy in 2017, because I was expecting improvement. He showed no improvement of note, and his weaknesses began to be more obvious. Pointing them out, and that there are many better QBs, isn't hating him. I was really hoping he'd prove me wrong and improve in the right places necessary for us to win a ring. But, as predicted, he remained Jimmy.
As far as Jimmy, Im completely ok to move on. It was the plan the entire season though you say otherwise. I will go to bat for Trey against those that will treat Trey like you treated Jimmy. I have no sides here. It's only a matter of time until you hate Trey.
I fully expect Trey to be serviceable at the very least if not better than Jimmy in some areas, worse in others.
Worst case scenario the total output from the QB position will be a wash next year. The problem is we had so many crucial breaks go our way in 2021, along with the fact we're going to lose a couple of good players. QB might remain constant but the team might get worse. And then the Jimmy Cult will blame Trey.
How's the team getting worse? We get all of our main pieces back with cap room.
You're already making excuses. Nothing more. Me I expect playoffs just as if expect a super bowl if Jimmy came back. You're the one already lowering expectations. Me I have full faith in Trey. Haters gonna hate
LOL exposed.
We have TWENTY ONE unrestricted free agents, and seven exclusive rights and restricted free agents. Here is a short list of some players that made key contributions that very well could be gone:
Tomlinson is probably good as gone. He'll probably cost 10 million to keep.
D.J. Jones is going to demand a pay raise.
Arden Key is probably gone.
K'Waun Williams is going to demand a pay raise.
Jaquiski Tartt is going to demand a pay raise.
Jordan Willis is going to demand a pay raise.
Azeez Al-Shaair is going to demand a pay raise.
Kentavious Street is probably going to look at free agency.
Kevin Givens is probably going to look at free agency.
Daniel Brunskill and his 17 starts is going to demand a pay raise.
Tom Compton and his 7 starts is going to demand a pay raise.
Deebo and Nick Bosa are going to collectively break the bank.
McGlinchey's salary is going to jump from 980k to 10 million because the 49ers already picked up his 5th year option.
Dee Ford is going to cost us several million in guaranteed money, cut or not.
.
.
This team is probably not going to be as good next year. That's just how the contracts landed. And we're definitely not going to get a blocked field goal and a blocked punt for a touchdown in a close divisional playoff against a clearly superior team.
All those guys you mention are bit players. Yeah the roster changes each season there is FA, draft, etc. Players come, players go. The core, Deebo, BA, Kittle, Mitchell, Trent, McG, Mack, Bosa, Warner, Ward, Armstead all remains. Imagine that core with us having an MVP caliber season out of the QB position and an offense which is indefensible.
What got us the most in 2021 it took Ryans a half season to get up to speed. Remember early season we were giving up more Rodgers meaningful drives in 30 seconds than we did in 60 minutes come playoffs. We got shelled mid season by Colt McCoy and James Conner. Game by game Ryans started to figure it out by season's end we were a defensive force. Give that guy an offseason.
SB odds for next year already have us installed as one of the favorites for the SB.
Lol bit players? Six of them are starters, and a few others make meaningful contributions. You don't lose that many contributors and expect it not to matter.
And Trey isn't having an MVP caliber season next year. He'll show flashes next year, but my best guess is that, like Jimmy, he'll need to be carried by the defense and run game.
Pack it up guys. We aren't gonna be any good next year. We may lose Arden Key a guy who I didn't know existed a year ago.
Yeah, these excuses are garbage. He's got so little faith in Trey he's already making excuses for him to fail. Negative as always. Down on the QB as always. It's all he does.
We'll be equally good, if not better.
#EXPOSED
If we're equally good or better, it's because Trey plays better than Jimmy.
Uhhh that's what a majority of us are saying. You're already saying Trey is a failure and making excuses that he's going to fail.. I thought it would take at least a week into the season for you to hate on Trey but not even 2 weeks after the SB.
The team is still plenty talented. If Jimmy came back I'd expect Super Bowl or a bust of a season with next year's team. I expect playoffs with Trey. I have faith in him, you don't. You are nothing but a hater.
I still am perplexed how my name is mocking Trey... Please explain your weird paranoia about me please. Gore? 49AT? That's pretty weird thing to fabricate.

Shoulders parallel to line square hips. For pretty much all. There's core in all those throws. Mostly shoulder for trey.
I expect better form from pros in their mid twenties than an excitable teen who cant wait to get the ball out early into an open window he sees. I think that's expected.
And please don't try to turn this into a Jimmy versus trey thing. Now who's being unnecessarily argumentative.
None of those clips are any different than those practice clips from Lance….
No I will bring up Jimmy, not a peep from you regarding his footwork for the past 4 years. Constantly throwing from his back foot in the pocket. Never stepping into his throws. It was wow look at that quick release which has nothing to do with footwork. It was all about upper body torque which is great for those quick throws but a disaster for every other throw.
