Tall order for a Cub Scout who's 22. Can you name any NFL quarterback that has taken his team to a winning record at 22? Doesn't happen a lot

It's gonna happen next season

Trey Lance might arguably have the best roster behind him. He's certainly in a better position than most, if not all of those guys.

Can we trade Jimmy already and end this nonsense? Already tired of it.

And he's never gonna be "ready" until he gets to actually play football.

jackson was 21 when he went to the playoffs. Micheal Vick was 22. Big Ben 22. Hurts, Watson, Mahomes Wilson etc were 23.

I would say it's definitely just you. Trey looks very fluid in the clips and has great ball placement. Not sure why we are upset with these clips. The niners decided to release some wow throws to give the fan base/media a nice little tease.

He's going out of his way to create fake news lol we don't have to say he's the best QB in the league or anything but making up bad mechanics on those throws is incorrect

If Jimmy can be carried to 10 wins by the defense and run game so can Trey.

If Trey is as advertised and plays well we win 11 or 12 games.

Our record will be 10-7, 11-6, or 12-5.

Book it.

Trey has blue chip physical tools
Its just a matter of catching up with the mental side of pro football.
He's 21

Lance would be far and away the number 1 pick in this years draft if he had stayed in college last year. I really think he flew under the radar last spring because his 2020 season was canceled.

This is pretty much a fact. We essentially got him for what was a swap of high ones last year, a late first in 2022, and if he plays well next season, another late first.

The whole 'traded three firsts for him' is kind of an exaggeration. Like yeah we did, but one of those was just a swap.

Yup. And the other 2 picks are likely becoming similar to 2nd rounders. The 2022 first is 29th, and next years first might be similar if Lance is decent. Plus we can now probably work our way back into the 1st because of those two extra 3rd's we got for McDaniel.

Drives me nuts when people say we traded 3 firsts for Lance. We just moved our existing pick down to 3 at the cost of two 1sts.

They still spent 3 1sts and a 3rd to acquire him….cost the 3rd pick in 2021, 3rd pick in 2022, 29th overall pick this yr and whatever the pick will be in 2023.

They spent 3 first but only lost 2. I know this has been discussed but to me, we swapped first and spent 2.

Just for fun I did some rough calculations:
I used the information from NFL draft value pick from the WebZone Draft boards

Year
2021 #3 pick = 2200 {value for Trey Lance}

2021 #12 pick = 1200 {first round}
2022 #29 Pick = 640 {first round}
2022 #80 pick = 190 {3rd round pick - I just used the middle of the pack number - hoping its the average value of 3rd round picks in 2022}
2023 #16 pick = 1000 {first round pick - again I tried to pick the middle of the pack number - hoping it's the average value of first round picks in 2023}

You add the picks given up for Trey from 2021 through 2023 and you get 3030. So 3030 minus 2200 equals 830.
830 according to the draft value chart roughly equals the 20th pick in the first round.

So theoretically, the 49ers overpaid for Trey the equivalent of a 20th pick (first round) in the draft.

Getting into the top 3 is always going to cost a lot,especially when its a QB heavy draft
Not like we overpaid,compare it to past top three trades.
We have plenty of draft capital and one of the best rosters in the league.
Loosing minority coaches for HC positions has become a cottage industry for us.
2 more 3rds next year when Ryans gets his HC gig next season.
That will be six? picks for coaches leaving?
our cap situation is very manageable

Now do the list of 22 year old QBs picked in the top 3, starting on a conference championship roster. I'll wait.

consider we will be adding another starter (JG will be gone) via draft or by trade.
This of-season will be fun
Chance not really sure what the hell you are trying to say tbh
