After mac jones bombed and alabama choked it is understandable you are hesitant to hope again

trust in KS to develop trey...the 2nd half v HOU was just the beginning

Yeah I'm ok and the 6 national titles since 09 are holding me over for a few years. Would love to see the Niners get their/our 6th total.
I pull for Mac as he's a Bama guy but no emotional tie there. He had the best year out of all the rookie qbs and cost the less so not sure how he bombed.
We've got one better on campus currently.
We will see on Trey, Id love to be wrong but I'm usually not far off

Wait how did Mac Jones bomb?? He was a rookie QB leading his team to the playoffs.

As for Alabama they had a bunch of freshman starting that game, I wouldn't say they choked.

He's referring to the horrid playoff game.

Musing today on the possibility of Rodgers going to the Broncos. If he does, and I know it's a ways away, but Trey has a legit shot at becoming the best QB in our conference! Especially if Wilson goes to the AFC. Look at the quarterback talent in that conference, compared to the NFC. Unreal!

Trey will be better than Wilson given some time.....he can stay in Alaska, and Trey will still be king of the NFC.

i wish but thats a high bar

He doesn't have far to go to be a better operator of an offense. Russels best traits are moon ball and scramble drill.

Working progressions, timing and the intermediate game were never great. Seattle fans have been saying this all year. They wished Russ could his some throes other than the moon ball cause his scrambling has diminished.

Trey will be better, no doubt. Russ was just stupid good at the scramble drill. Seattle was only a serious contender with the best defense of the decade.

All signs point to Trey not needing that to be a serious contender.

Yeah, pump the brakes, bro. Wilson is an all time great - Trey will be good in his own right.

Is he? To me he seems like the same QB I've been criticizing for years. He plays backyard ball and when his escapability declines so does his legend and effectiveness. The next several years will prove if im right or not.

He's older now - he doesn't run around like he used to. But, he still has the accuracy in the passing game and he throws a nice deep ball.

He completed 4% fewer of his passes than JG and had 30 fewer yards per game. All while hitting a bunch of deep shots. Russ is not good at the quick passing game or getting deep into progressions.

I believe Trey will be a lot better of a pocket passer than Russ. He's already shown much more of a desire and ability to hang in and work the play than Russ did for years.

Yup. He's not gonna age well because his strengths are his escapability and backyard prowess. He was forcing deep shots for much of the year that tanked the offense.

He is probably a first ballot Hall of Famer. I mean if a hang dog stooge like Eli manning is in that conversation then Wilson certainly is as well

Add to all that...if Trey stuck around one more year in college....
I look at it being able to get the #1 overall pick in 2022 draft... I'm sure he would have went #1 overall in this upcoming draft.
No way one of these teams that would have ended up with the #1 pick, would have traded out of their spot to us or anyone.
We just took an educated gamble and grabbed him early.
NDSU was undefeated last year with a lesser QB, so Lance being #1 pick this year would be extremely possible.

He definitely would have gone 1st this year.

And you know this how? More magical thinking from the Trey Lance is god crowd. I hope the kid turns out to be great but all of this oohing and aahing based on ten quarters of okay football really is a bit much.
