I'm ready to roll with Trey (well I have been all year) the unfamiliarity that defenses have with him could well be enough to catch them off guard.

There's no way Jimmy will be 100% for the rest of the season, and it will effect some throws, just not worth it for me. Titans Jimmy cannot win.

ugh if only they beat the Titans then we wouldn't have to worry about s**t this week

exactly,,,,,,,,,, the loss is soley on jimmy and the reason i am no longer on the jimmy train... he single handed cost us the game.. start trey sunday . i have zero confidence in jimmy to win this big game.. winning big games is not in his dna

I tweeted out that Jimmy Garoppolo was the reason the 49ers went from contenders to pretenders in 3 hours.

However, considering the Titans were starting 3 backup lineman and threw almost exclusively to A.J. Brown while max-protecting every play. They only had 3 receivers running routes almost the whole night. They couldn't run the ball at all. The fact that the defense didn't post a shutout in those circumstances is also appalling. There's no excuse for that.

Jimmy sucked. He threw 2 bad picks(of course one was after he tore a ligament in his thumb). But, he also tied the game and the defense couldn't stop A.J. Brown and Tannehill from scrambling to win the game or stop Brown from converting like 5 or 6 3rd and longs. THAT should NEVER happen.

Ya we saw that tweet. Welcome to the Jimmy Haters club

Jimmy hasn't been that great this year...are we going to trust a Jimmy with injured throwing hand?

I say we go TL cuz they will counter our approach from the last game if we try to repeat it there's no known counter to TL currently.

Keep in mind the expectations for JG also. I agree with your post Hoov but it applies to JG as well. Dude had a broken hand played anyway short week road game vs possible AFC 1 seed. Team that I don't know if JG has ever gone against Vrabel who's a defensive coach and ex defensive player. D gave up the 3rd and 23 which was really bad. Also had a drive at the end where they needed a stop and couldn't get it. I had blame for JG but that was tempered a bit finding out he was playing with a bum throwing hand.

Oh I agree. The 2nd pick was clearly hand related and he did rebound with the late drive, which was quite impressive. I'm more focusing on a wasted defensive effort in the 1st half and the goal line pick and Juice overthrow. That's 14 points off the board. Not excusing the 3rd down conversions, but I also know the circumstances the D was under so trying to be a little more understanding as to why things unfolded the way they did as the game went along for them.

Definitely. The TOP was identical and they were brutal on 3rd downs but they also didn't have all their horses so you gotta lean a little more towards giving them a break for breaking in the second half and late even though that's been their M.O. this year.

The D came out on fire on a short week traveling cross country. Game should have been 21-0 in the 1st and salted away. I think the expectations for a D under those conditions coupled with the offense giving the ball back and keeping them on the field is a tad unreasonable

How anyone can fault the defense for that loss Is beyond me. It was 100% on Jimmy

All Jimmy had to do was not make those TOs or miss a wide open Juice. I don't expect our cream puff CBs to stop an pro-bowler like AJ Brown. I would expect our highly invested $$ QB to play better than he did that game.

He hade multiple misses before the injury. The horrible RZ INT and the missed Juice ball were two that come to mind. I have different expectations for Jimmy and with what he's being paid vs Josh Norman and Co. That's the difference in all of it for me.
There's only one game that I point to and blame Jimmy 100% since he's been here. The Titans game. That game was on a short week to the east coast against the top team in the afc. On top of that he had a bad thumb for the second half. And he still tied the game.

If i were a catholic priest, I would absolve him.

And that one game might cost them the playoffs...blew 14 points before he injured anything, SF was steaming rolling before the RZ INT happened.
The titans have been squeaking by and I think if you flop their 3 pt or less wins, they're the 7th seed not the #1 seed right now. They're far from some dominant force

All you have to do is say a couple are fathers and the priest absolves you lol.
I swear to god every time I check in here to read about Trey Lance it's just a bunch of guys making excuses for Jimmy

But you can't pick and choose games. Why focus on that 1 game? He essentially brought them down to beat the bengals in overtime. It is what it is. Lets just hope they beat the rams and make a run.
