Yes he may not be super agile but is very fast in a straight line etc which is fine for his position. his running is a threat so let him save it for next year.

He had enough twitch where he played in college to beat D's on some runs but you need to be a midget like Murray for it to work in the NFL. His shiftiness will easily help get a few extra yards once he gets going for sure. His run game is very similar to Allen's

That's not the kind of speed he has. His speed is more the type that burns a defense for the first when they don't account for it on 3rd down.

He'll be a major problem to stop on those downs as he gets up to speed. His blasts through the line in college were his type of runs but he's not run first

I hope so. He had a step on a vertical plane on the field lined up with the FS on a designed run to the left. He wasn't able to change the FS tackling angle.
I've said this before but he's a slightly more athletic Dak Prescott as far as rushing ability. Nothing lights out but plenty mobile.

So allow him to gain 1st down after 1st down and defeat your team so long as it's not an 80 yarder? Can't say I've ever heard of this defensive philosophy.

I think his point is that Lance's speed is not really the type you have to game plan around.

I guess you could call him a "Mobil" QB, but it's more in the mold of Steve Young than Kap. He's not that fast, that quick, or that strong.

Yes and Steve Young in this day and age would've been an absolute nightmare,...much moreso than Kap.

You don't have to break 80 yard runs to keep defensive coordinators up all night. And it's not whether or not he can do it,...it's that we're even looking for it to begin with as if that's what Kyle wants out of this offense. I think it's just a crazy thing to focus on.

Am I the only one who's actually a little relieved he doesn't have crazy speed like Kyler or Lamar? It'll force him to play more similarly to Mahomes, Herbert, Allen.

That's good. Because I doubt we positioned ourselves to spend 3 1sts on getting a guy that tries to break 80 yard runs as often as possible. We more than likely would rather build a dominant offense with him than try to look like Seattle or Baltimore on offense.

I will say Trey Lance had a GPS tracked time at 21.54 MPH in college and said he was laser timed at 4.51 this off season…he's plenty fast, but yeah he's not the low 4.4 guys like Kyler/Jackson.

With all due respect, when is everything clicking with this team? Maybe the Rams game? At best?

It seems like, at least for this year, Jimmy's cost us a couple games directly, special teams a couple and the defense a couple. At least...maybe a few each. That's why we're here.

Jimmy has won when the running game wasn't working, lost when it was, has closed out games when the defense was failing late, has tied it up or put his team in position late to win, was also the reason they were in that very position at times, has the most clutch points, most 90+ yard drives, etc.

To your last point, this year, from injuries to full team collapses, to usually only one unit playing great, other units inconsistent or failing, etc. it was just a roller coaster of a ride year. If it wasn't one thing, it was another.

Hopefully Trey will get to a level where we can deviate from our winning formula when needed or even transcend a units poor day.

A pretty much all 2019 lol. Top 5 D top 5 running team

Lance has been clocked at 21.54 MPH during a game and laser timed at 4.51 this off season.

He isn't as explosive as Jackson or kyler, not many QBs are… Once he gets moving he is plenty fast. Honestly like him playing in the pocket he's not confident in his runs either, you can seen he's hesitate to just take off too.

Yep the only reason he seems slower is because he has been hesitant on his runs. He's doing more juking and jiving than running.

He hasn't juked a single defender.

I didn't say he was successful at it so far lol. That will come with more experience. But he has yet to get in open space where we can see how fast he is.

he isnt shifty though hes fast and big but he will not juke people often unless hes really in the open field

doesnt mean he isnt a threat to run if the opponent is playing man coverage he will find open holes and take advantage of that
