He's played just a handful of quarters where his team was actually behind and even then he wasn't throwing it a lot.
He's got a lot to learn and being able to ease his toes into the water is likely going to be far more beneficial than to just throw him into the deep end.

This makes it obvious that he and Lynch had to overrule Shanny. Obvious. Nobody had Mac CousinsSmith anywhere near the third pick. He couldn't out run college nose tackles.

Emotions?
Jimmy is an above average QB at best. Trey has a lot of talent. Rookie QBs have shown they can come in and have success. I think Trey is going to wow the coaching staff and he will be starting a lot sooner than people think.
