Lance wasn't throwing nuclear ducks all game, so there's more improvement. The road to go is long, but people were saying earlier in the year he'd never improve. They were saying it in the game thread today.

They weren't nuclear, but there was a lot of ducks I saw...

If it were me I'm starting tray from now moving forward. Nothing was different between today and the Jimmy games. I mean look at it 249 yards two touchdowns, and an interception. Sounds identical to Jimmy and 65 70% completion percentage.

The big difference to me was. Every time Jimmy Garoppolo throws an interception this season we lose. So Trey did something today that Jimmy cannot do this season. Throw an interception and still win the game. The office is smoother with Jimmy I will agree. But you can see the limitless of the offense When trays on the field compared to Jimmy
Two things I just learned from watching breakdown of the game.

he has happy feet. Too much time spent trying to make guys miss. They don't miss at this level often and 2 he's not that Lamar Jackson RG3 type of guy. Just cut upfield and get what you can. 7, 8 yds the difference between a 1st and turnover on downs is here.

his throwing mechanics is very Philip rivers esque where he throws really strong but it's more of a dart spear type of motion. If he can somehow launch it at a higher apex like brady, romo he'd have less wobblers. But then again mahommes makes it work somehow.

show the kid tape of like daunte culpeppern /'steven McNair. He can do that. He's trying IMO to be like like Vick which he simply doesn't have the foot speed to make those type of plays and it's hurting his run game
Now comes the real test. One thing to beat a scrub team. Show me against Jalen Ramsey and Aaron Donald. That will tell you where he is at.

Better play calling would help him.

Rolled out more to his right side along with easier dump offs and a few read option plays and he probably could have been rolling today. Needs some easy screens and option plays so it's less pressure.

Like others have said he needs more air under the ball. Running him to his left only makes that worse.

Agree. Good chance Jimmy's played his last game as a 49er. I said early in the season, if Trey comes in because of an injury (Jimmy's thumb) that's it for Jimmy as a 49er. This is the Alex Smith, Colin Kaepernick situation all over again. I do hope Jimmy can heal up before the rams game, but if he doesn't - I don't see him playing in the playoffs if Trey wins that game.

I saw some eye opening throws between the defenders that I'm pretty sure Jimmy could throw, but Lance just has a much longer range. Much stronger arm. Much more mobile. He'll only get better, and he's pretty good now.

A tale of 2 QBs:

Stupid and meaningless as always.

I don't think so. It's not a knock on Jimmy, but it's just proof against the idea here that Kyle's offense always looks like the Jimmy chart and that it isn't just a matter of Kyle tailoring his offenses to what his QBs are good at.

Where's NCommand when you need him? LoL

so savage man come on
I'm just pleased if he's out there and he's not a disaster with anything above that being a nice bonus.

Given his lack of experience and lack of actual live game snaps he's had over the past couple of years I've been pretty satisfied that he's looked competent out there thus far.

Most of the issues I've seen with him are legit but fall more on the nitpick side of things but more importantly things that can and should be cleaned up as he gets reps and grows.

I mean Jimmy G has basically smashed his head against his ceiling but Lance isn't even close to his and the gap between the two isn't all that much. That gives me a lot of hope for the future when he gets an offseason to clean up the mechanics along with being the guy moving forward and having the team's full attention.

Yeah, I think OLine should be a priority - Alex Mack and Trent Williams aren't getting any younger. CB definitely is also an area of need.

Back to Trey, his arm is incredibly strong, and I can see much deeper passes next year for that WR squad. I think some scheme changes are in order to take advantage of that incredibly strong arm.

The '94 team's offensive concepts come to mind. That team ripped off big chunks of passing yardage in the first quarter, got a lead, and then grinded teams out with the run in the 2nd half into the ground.

Ok one more thing about trey's throws. Did anyone else notice that he still struggles to throw spirals consistently? I've never seen a qb at this level struggle throwing spirals this much since peyton manning lol. Yes peyton threw a lot of ugly balls and that didn't stop him. But I think in bad weather and windy games it is totally going to affect him (peyton was way worse in bad weather games perhaps because his imperfect spirals not cutting through the wind). Maybe this is something that he will fix or maybe not....is it an issue?

Yeah, he threw a couple of ducks Sunday. I think he can still be effective, but he's going to have to clean it up or it may become a problem.

He doesn't throw good spirals.
