I would say he's in the top-half. He's not Kyler Murray or Lamar Jackson, but He's elusive enough in the pocket to make extended plays, and that's something that Kaep couldn't do despite his top-end speed. He's what you need in todays NFL.

This here. Most impressive thing today, albeit the Texans' sorry pass rush.

Hes not strong, fast and he's not ellusive. I was equally upset with his decisions to throw it on 4th down and his decision to run out of bounds short of the goal line. That stiff can be corrected. He needs to be aware of the down and distance and specific point in the game.

The throw on 4th down that Archuleta pointed out was a good play by the Texans safeties?

I'd have to watch the replay again, but my initial though was I wasn't so sure if he'd make it if he ran it, and I didn't see where he could throw it.

There was one guy that could have tackled him. Josh Allen, taysom, lamar, fields, all make that first down with their legs.

Strongly disagree. Go rewatch the play. It was a poor throw, period. Lol intentional? Yeah, Lance threw the ball at Jennings' ankles on purpose.

For the record, I thought Lance had a solid game, and I look forward to his continued development. I feel compelled to say that because—somehow—people in here are being branded "haters" for offering any criticism.

Was he asked? Did he confirm?

And on the intentional thing let's just be clear: Have you ever heard of a football concept of throwing low to avoid defenders making a play on the ball? Y or N?

Of course I have lol. Your attempt at being condescending is funny. Again, go back and watch the play.

Edit: I'll do you the favor. Here's the play:

Come on, man.

I think thats fair. So far I have not been impressed with his run instincts. He doesn't have good vision, he's not very fast and he's not that illusive. The proof is that he almost always gets tackled in the open field. I'm not saying he's not mobil at all, but I'd consider him below average as "mobile" qbs go.

He's not strong. Is Jimmy strong?

Not at all. But trey was brought in as a dual threat.

A dual threat isin't necessarily a weight lifter. How are you measuring strength? lol
Trey's running ability may look better once teams start respecting his throwing abiilty, but so far they've been daring him to throw.

You're right that first half was so amazing and promising. How DARE people be very skeptical after such an amazing interception in which he did everything wrong!

((I'm happy he turned it around, don't get me wrong. But don't act like his first half was inspiring and gave no reason for people to doubt him. It was abysmal.))

Once he gets more comfortable as well. He's not playing at full speed out there bc he's still a bit timid. He will look much better come next season.

Condescending stuff = changing the subject.

The point is you have. So then,.... why is it impossible to you that that was the case here regarding the pass? Was he wide open or was there a defender around?

I'll just have to wait until someone posts a gif or something,...dont have access.

But I can tell you that it is a problem with outside routes from time to time where passes can't get low enough/away from the defender, and become dangerous. Hence, why that area of the field is virtually empty on Jimmy's passing charts.

You called him a bust lol. Calling a QB with two starts under his belt a bust is dumb as hell. Lol at trying to defend your Grant Cohn take.

Yes. Also, he is still getting used to the speed of the game and what angles to take. He'll get there.

Abysmal is a strong word for 10/13 for 100+ yards and 1 interception. The alternative to passing a final judgement on a rookie making his second start is to just acknowledge that it'll take time for Lance to develop and it won't always look great.

3.5 seconds to throw the ball today. Similar to the AZ game.

Ball needs to get out much more quickly against the Rams. They will kill him. Needs to be closer to 2.5.

Thought he played well overall. But today's performance won't fly next week. Entirely different breed of defender on the Rams.

I edited my prior post to include the clip. Here it is again for you. The placement to an open Jennings is poor. There's nothing else to discuss here.
