  • 15/29 for 6.6 AVG
  • We did have 152 yards rushing (5.4)
  • 31:54 TOP

Yeah, cut out the int and add a few more 3rd down conversions.

That'd be a great start...fair too!

His completion % is what I want to see improve

No scrambling to buy more time, just run forward... slide if need be. Or throw the ball away if need be.

Live to fight another down, but atleast it won't be 2/3rd and 15+ yards. Kyle will get someone open. Just be patient.

If we fall behind and need big chunks of plays, then yes try to be Russell.

He needs to slide feet first if he's running. Leading with his shoulder is a recipe for disaster.

Thats called diving, not sliding.

Yeah, we'll see about that. Kyle had Benjamin for the Cardinals game and we took no deeper shots.

But that was so long ago. It'll be fun to see if some are dialed up as primaries.

Won't happen. According to someone we don't have the "burners" for deep shots

Well let's see. Benjamin was our burner and he wasn't used last time with Trey. Now let's see if deep primaries are dialed up for Deebo, Aiyuk and Kittle or if they'll continue to be ghost routes.

I've already seen deep primaries for all three of them this season, they weren't just ghost routes. Off the top of my head, I know there was one to Kittle that got picked and another where Jimmy took the check down over Aiyuk who was open deep.

OK. Then I/we can expect far more deep chunk plays dialed up and executed, right? I hope you're right!

Dialed up and executed are two separate things. What you kept saying prior too and in the beginning of the season is Shanny didn't dial up those deep chunk plays because we didn't have the personnel to do it (receivers). That statement was wrong then and is still wrong now. He's dialed them up but they just haven't been executed for reasons that has been discussed many times in Jimmy's thread and other threads.

Trey Lance already winning the top QB competitions.

Not even 2.5 because Kyle's offense is so great that the initial read should be open. If it ain't, then GTFO out of there.
1st two games:

Josh Allen: 24/48, 50%, 319 yds, 1 TD, 2 INT, 61.0 rating, 8 sacks, 12 carries, 58 yds

Trey Lance: 24/47, 51%, 349 yds, 2 TD, 1 INT, 80.9 rating, 3 sacks, 23 carries, 130 yds

I mean yeah, Josh Allen was terrible his rookie season. I remember watching him and thinking the kid was a true bust. I think Trey Lance can be better and he has a much better supporting cast and coach than Allen did his rookie year.

Yeah, even the good ones have bad cameo's. Trey will be fine - he just needs to play.

I don't see how he doesn't improve from those numbers.

I'm not sure about that 3rd and 4th down stat. Are you counting the team on 3rd and 4th downs?

For the season Trey is 7/16 on 3rd and 4th downs (3/4 on 4th downs). So did those 3 other completions come from other games?

Eitherway one thing I do like is Trey did a good job protecting the ball in college.

And so far this year on 48 NFL snaps... he's only had one turnover I believe, the high pass to Benjamin.

Hopefully he keeps it up, and when we do get into FG range going forward, we actually take our 3pts this time on 4th downs.

3rd and 11 (incomplete pass dropped by sanu)
3rd and 9 (18 yard pass to juice)
3rd and 17 (12 yard pass to Dwelley)
4th and 5 (6 yard pass to Sanu)
3rd and 22 (incomplete pass)
3rd and 7 (15 yard scramble)
3rd and 14 (13 yard pass to Dwelley)
4th and 1 (failed juice play where he didnt toss to Trey)
3rd and 4 (incomplete pass to BA)
4th and 4 (incomplete pass to Deebo)
3rd and 3 (incomplete to Deebo)

Oh ok.

Edit-I was watching footage of that game last night and that call for Juice still pisses me off. Like we just ran it the previous week. I wonder where the communication went wrong.

No, I said this is Kyle-thing. He is conservative and plays to probability. He'll be the same with Trey too.

He just talked about this the other day too. Now, if he HAD a Tyreek Hill, sure, he'd dial him up more but still be conservative and calculated with those shots. Eric Davis also talked about how most deeper routes are just ghost routes...defenders know this too. Need more evidence? Kyle himself a few games ago, said instead of going to Kittle with 2 defenders on him (INT) noted the next read (correct) was a check down...NOT the wide open deeper ghost route run by Sherfield (?) which fans thought was an easy TD. Jimmy himself confirmed playing within the play calls. Trey started and it was the exact same thing.

Let's just watch for it going forward and see if anything changes.

It still doesn't mean Deebo and Aiyuk strengths are suddenly deep threats. They, to fit Kyle's philosophy, are quick-area YAC monsters.

The body-slam sack where Garoppolo got injured? Kyle had max protect with both Kittle and Juice in to help with pass protection. 3rd and 10. Jennings was 4 yards short of the market. Garoppolo was waiting for either Deebo or Aiyuk to get open deeper. They couldn't. Game over. 49ers career over.

That was just from his actual start against the Cards.

Great attempt at the deflection. IDGAF what Kyle or Eric Davis said, I'm talking about what YOU said. Don't make me dig it up, you know what you said regarding us not having the "speed" and all that junk you were spewing regarding this.
