Yeah, we'll see about that. Kyle had Benjamin for the Cardinals game and we took no deeper shots.

But that was so long ago. It'll be fun to see if some are dialed up as primaries.

Won't happen. According to someone we don't have the "burners" for deep shots

Well let's see. Benjamin was our burner and he wasn't used last time with Trey. Now let's see if deep primaries are dialed up for Deebo, Aiyuk and Kittle or if they'll continue to be ghost routes.

I've already seen deep primaries for all three of them this season, they weren't just ghost routes. Off the top of my head, I know there was one to Kittle that got picked and another where Jimmy took the check down over Aiyuk who was open deep.

I just want to see improvements from the last game:
  • 4 for 16 on 3rd and 4th downs
  • 0 TD, 1 INT, 2 Sacks
  • 15/29 for 6.6 AVG
  • We did have 152 yards rushing (5.4)
  • 31:54 TOP

Yeah, cut out the int and add a few more 3rd down conversions.
I think Trey plays well. Its a great situation for him now that he's had most the season to prepare. Facing a bad team at home with no crowd noise. I hope Shanahan calls a lot of quick, easy throws and rollouts to help give him the option to use his athleticism if the reads aren't there. Keep him away from running into the middle of the field. Hopefully Mitchell can go so the running game is strong.

WR's gonna need to get better at going off route and follow trey when he scrambles. That s**t will lead to incompletions and picks.

Jennings and Aiyuk both played in college with QBs that liked to scramble around and buy time with their legs. Shouldn't be anything unusual for them.

Why? Seattle does this very well, because they practice for it. I'm almost more afraid when Russell scrambles then when he is in the pocket. This should be a point of emphasis in young Trey's development.

INT are going to happen. Its part of development. A rookie QB who doesn't throw any picks is likely not being given enough opportunities to grow. You need to let him test the limits and throw with confidence. However, I don't think they will open that up to him now, because theres a playoff spot on the line. Will probably just try to
dominate on the ground and mix in passes strategically.

Im excited to see how he's improved since the AZ game. We don't need him to do a whole lot to beat Houston, so this should be a confidence building game for Trey.

Hopefully our spot is locked after this week and the Rams game is meaningless. Then Trey can let loose a bit.

What a time to be a fan. We are on the verge of something historic I can feel it.

Its too bad Bama is going to miss the boat.
Trey will be fine imo. I'm more worried about the rest of the offense having to adapt to the change in style.

Growing pains at the worse time, but we shall see.

Is he ready to throw touchdowns and win games?

I think we'll know within a few pass plays how ready he is.

I'd rather see him stay in the pocket for an extra second (give or take) and throw the ball away than panic and resort to the legs too soon.

Didn't he throw a TD W1?

I could careless about staying in the pocket right now, let him use his god given ability to help him make plays until he's confident in his reads.

I'm less worried about him breaking off structure than our receivers (ad lib) and OL (holding penalties) knowing what to do when he does.

From what I've seen, he has the arm strength for our pass catchers secondary routes (backyard ball) a la Russell Wilson if a play goes to s**t and he extends it with his legs. That makes me happy.

Absolutely and his accuracy is nice on those as well.
Live fire -- soon.

OK. Then I/we can expect far more deep chunk plays dialed up and executed, right? I hope you're right!

Because Trey will only have a week practicing with the ones. I agree how dangerous and effective it is but idk if they've had enough practice with trey yet to have it down.
