If Trey is inactive on game day, he might have a grade 1 MCL tear. Not super serious but it's going to need a few weeks to heal. It might no longer just be "sore."

Couple things:
1) Jimmy still gives SF the best chance to win because he understands the offense/plays/reads better.
2) Im not dazzled by Trey's running against AZ. Some were designed (too many), some were leaving the pocket way too early, and a few were avoiding pressure. Designed runs were out of necessity (lack of experience and understanding the offense), leaving too early is another sign of lack of experience, but avoiding pressure was good. The first 2 reasons are not sustainable.
3) Running got Trey hurt. I know some folks here are spouting that there's data saying running QBs are not prone to getting hurt more than stationary QBs. Regardless, I think that's nonsense. While a player can get hurt on any given play, having a QB run more puts him AT INCREASED RISK FOR INJURY given the factors of running--cutting, slipping, getting a cleat caught in the ground, getting tackled, lack of protection as a runner.
Bottom line, if Trey was ready to play/start, he would be. But he isn't, so he's not.

He averaged over 10 Carrie's a game on college and ran more in games that were close. He's not Lamar where he's off the charts while and can contort his body in ways to lessen contact. I mean one start and he's hurt, he's gonna have to change his game completely.

I like how you guys assume he hurt his knee on a running play.

Then again you were the leading mouthpiece that a mobile QB can transcend an OL. It was laughable then and it's laughable now.
I agree with the rest of your takes though.
You've moved goalposts out to the parking lot over the yrs, so I don't even know where you're at anymore.
conveniently leave out the part where I said go look at Lamar, Watson, Murray, Herbert and even Allen...they don't have pro-bowlers across the board on the their OLs. mobility does help PP as long as everyone is on the same page.
Go watch the AZ game, jimmy would have been sacked like 8 times in that game. The OL overall didn't play well BUT Lance being able to move helped remove some of those sacks. He's got to learn to take what's given and be more confident in his reads, but again that only happens with more playing time. Making a gotcha moment based off one game of a 21 yr old rookie who hasn't played with the 1st team or really any legit football since 2019 is pretty lame dude.
Good point about playing time...it would also help the OL to get accustomed to how Lance moves to escape. Multiple holding penalties last game on OL blocking one way then Lance going the other led to holds.

There were only two holds on scrambles and one of them was before Trey scrambled. The other was Trey running the same way that the DE held would have had to run to get to him anyway.

Ha okay doc…where's the inside source on that? No need to throw out stuff like that when you don't really have a clue about it.

I mean let's be real here. With this regimes track record, the chance of NC being right is higher then him being wrong. This training staff gets the severity of injuries wrong frequently.

Well first off he has no clue what play it happened on, so to make a diagnosis of any sort based off nothing is just misleading and guessing…there's no reason to do that.

Only he's not really an above avg QB.
Jose thinks Lance should sit a yr to "develop" THEN when he's forced to play because his favorite QB is hurt again....Lance goes out and has an up and down game. (All while getting no legit snaps for 5 months and not playing football for a yr) Jose then conveniently calls him a bust, like he never wrote he should sit for a yr first.
Do I have that correct? bunch of hypocrites
No, I've said that it's time to move on. Jimmy got a bad break here and I blame shanahan. It is what it is. Trey needs to start so they can assess whether they have something in him. It's too bad that we are going to lose 2+ years of bosa, Warner and kittles prime years so that he can possibly become a great qb. And yes I don't see him playing at an elite level for at least this season and the next season given how behind he is.

What makes you think he is OK? He is missing time with a knee injury after his first start.
Worrisome
