Nope. We're replacing a injury prone QB with possibly another injury prone QB. Weeeee
That game plan still pisses me off. That was way too many designed runs. If the plan is to have him run, go 5 receiver and spread out the defense. But I prefer seeing bootlegs and pass plays that open up running lanes like we did with Young.

Learning from Jim G. Play a game or two then miss weeks of practice and games. Not ideal

Too bad Trey isn't healthy enough to go - he might have had a chance to start with Jimmy still nursing that calf.

Yep….
JG plays more halves of foot ball before he gets injured. Stats show he played 15 halves of fooball before his first injury with the 49ers. Trey only played 3 halves and a few plays before he was injured and could not practice. Fact.

Nope… Shanahan said indirectly after the Cards game Garoppolo was coming back

Not saying he's injury prone, but 2 injuries in nearly a 1 month span…..sheshh

After JGs return from the ACL he played every game threw to the SB in 2019 and then every game in 2020 up until a 300lb plus Defensive Lineman feel on his leg and foot. That is the minimum measure for Trey to stay injury free.

Look at how many Trey fans are already noticing the pass protection now and he's GOING to hold it much longer than Garoppolo.
Double standard.
And my original point all along was no matter the style of QB, pass protection is critical. Hell, I even argued it was MORE important for a raw rookie like Trey so he doesn't develop early poor habits.
But many fans just figured a mobile QB could transcend poor pass protection. That's been one of the biggest fallacies on this board.

DeForest Buckner on 49ers with Trey Lance: 'You kind of get that Baltimore Ravens kind of vibe'
What a compliment to be compared to a former MVP (who is also one of the top candidates for the award this year so far) on a team that has made the playoffs every year he's been there.
If Shanahan were to be fired, Greg Roman might be our next HC.

GR was massively underrated by many.
His offenses broke defenses with long pounding drives and dominating TOP.

Perfect compliment for Fangio's D.

I didn't believe in the old Lamar... but the new one looks dangerous as s**t.

The biggest problem with this board is that everything is 'black or white'. NC, your bolded comment is such a huge generalization. You, obviously, can point to Mahomes in the SB as an example of his being mobile didn't help. I could point to the 1st, I believe, play of the Arizona game where Lance escaped a very quick pressure for a 1st down. Garoppolo is a dead duck in that play.
Maybe it's more grey than black or white.!
