Get his mechanics better, learn the play book better, learn to read defenses better and learn situational awareness. These guys who are wishing him to start all the time will see their dream blow up....injured

He had two big hits that whole game, if you watch it again. The 4th in goal where he actually laid the wood and the hit where they ripped his helmet off. Every other run wasn't some crushing hit and most of the time it was him already falling down and guys laying on top of him.

LOL how are you gonna learn to read defenses better by being the teams scout QB? How are you gonna learn situational awareness by NOT playing football...my god people, you all want him to develop and figure it all out by not doing what he actually has to do to get better at it...it's like saying you want Ben Simmons to get better at shooting 3s, yet you don't want him to practice shooting 3s or take them in games...he should "watch the film" maybe if he sits a yr he will figure it out

Something just tells me that Kyle and all of his assistant QB coaches know a little be more about this than you. But type away lol

You're the one I'm talking too. You're the one that's saying sitting him is the best way for him to develop...so please explain why? Does being the teams scout team QB for a yr get him where he should be? Does basically NOT taking reps with the 1st team since he's been here get him where he needs to be? You want him to be better at football but you don't want him to play football lol. Do you not understand how silly that sounds?

You want him to be better at learning to read defenses and learn situational awareness...well please explain how he get's better at that by not playing football? I mean I'm all ears break it down for me, Goatie.

If sitting a year is a waste and or hurts a players development, then why have some very talented and well respected football minds done just that and have shown that it didn't have a negative impact or effect?

How do you know it had some great impact? You think if Mahomes played his rookie yr he would suck right now? You think if Blaine Gabbert sat a yr he'd be amazing? You think Jordan Love is gonna be a all-pro because he hasn't played football for yrs? You have no idea. There's plenty of QBs that played their rookie yr at some point and are damn good QBs.

You think if Watson/Wilson/Dak/Herbert/Allen/Burrow/Murray/Jackson etc red shirt they would be even better? No man, they needed to play football and grow through the game. Not watch guys like tyrod taylor play in front of them. Them playing football is what is getting them better at football.

I was of the mindset that Jimmy should be the week 1 starter...they made their bed with him and gave him a f**k ton of cash. I was saying unless Jimmy was playing at a pro-bowl level, then after the bye Lance should get in there. IF Lance was completely clueless with the playbook fine...I truly do not think that's the case...he simply doesn't have the reps, the game is fast right now for him and the only way it's gonna slow down is if he can play more. NOT being the scout QB and continue to not get reps....literally what they're doing is the most minimal way to develop him, I believe lynch the other day basically said after Lance's first game he was impressed because he basically got no reps with the 1st team since day 1 and basically no real reps during the season. Great way to get your highly invested QB going.

Did we see Kyle's new playbook against the Cardinals?

Lol give it a rest already! Are we now saying the offense and Kyle was carried by the defense???

also for many young fans under 30 Jimmy Garoppolo is the winningest 49ers QB of their lifetime, 2nd is Shaun Hill. Yet fans on here will stop at nothing to bash him until he's ran out of town……ugh I told myself I was done defending him

You bringing up Shaun Hill proves how assigning a record/winning percentage to a QB is stupid.

It isn't accurate.
Steve Young's winning and Joe Montana both have much % as 49er QBs. Hill isn't in the top 5 since 1970.

Assigning a winning percentage to a coach or qb is pretty common and tells part of a story. Each stat on its own is not very valuable.

He's not on the bench bc he sucks, he's on the bench bc you're not gonna sit a guy making 25 mil on the bench. Do you even football?
Of course this Dodger fan shows up and the Giants lose. Thanks dude. LOL

You're a 49er QB so get used to being blamed for everything.

lol Trey is a Dodgers fan because he wore a fashion cap?
One thing we have to keep in mind about whether to play Trey this season is the status of Jimmy. We all pretty much know that he's a lame duck QB since his contract next season makes it likely he'll get released or traded. It's not like they drafted Trey for insurance. They drafted him to replace JG as soon as possible.

I agree with everyone else that he's far from ready but another loss or two and they're looking at long odds for the playoffs. Then it's time to go full tilt Trey.

Yeah, a couple more loses then it's Trey time.

I basically showed you examples where your question means nothing. Mahomes is still Mahomes whether he sat or not…you can't convince me otherwise. Reid played McNabb yr one all the same.

IF sitting a player meant success in the future then every single damn team would have benched their rookie…yet damn near all 1st rd pick QBs have played over the course of two decades at some pt yr1.
