I've never seen such a polarized reaction before. Did they broadcast two different games?

Who knows bro. First start imo he was ok, but obviously looked like a rookie starting his first game.

Just barely a 50% completion avg. That's not going to get it done in Kyle's offense. Hopefully that is something that can be improved upon. I would hate to see him become one of those guys who can put up decent numbers because of his ability to hit the occasional long ball but can't make the underneath game work because he can't hit a 10 yard slant when he needs to. Time will tell I guess. Interesting to see how many people in here are already willing to bag the season just so Lance can get more playing time. 'The Faithful'. Not much I would say.
That's exactly what he is right now. And that's not a sustainable way to win games. Part of the reason I thought Mac was a better fit for Shannahans offense is the short and intermediate game. Where Trey throws high, hard, wobbly, behind, etc…Mac his a lot more accurate. Yes, some are catchable, but the goal is to lead the back or receiver and get them moving forward. Trey threw an easy one in Deebos back hip….those and the quick slants should be automatic pitches and catches. I believe that's a big part of the reason Kyle doesn't trust him to throw in short yardage situations.
Lol. Mac is trash. Should have drafted Mills in the 2nd

Did he have 1 play where he dropped back and threw it after his 3 step or 5 step hit the ground? He couldn't read the defense. That is concerning.

49ers actually outgained the Cardinals (338-303) on one fewer offensive play. Too many tipped passes and a few wayward ones, but 89 yards rushing for Trey Lance, who never looked rattled. The Jimmy Garoppolo fans won't agree, but I think Lance should remain the starter.

He is just not ready.
Excluding preseason:
1) Kap had only played in half a regular season game against the Rams when Alex Smith was taken out plus some wildcat packages before that.
2) Jimmy had played in 2 regular season games when Brady was banned.
In the meantime, Trey Lance has been in and out of games, other than that today was his first official start. You tell me, was he better than what Kap and Jimmy showed when they started for the 9ers?

If stats are all that matters then, hey, leave him in. Just fix the damn play calling and start holding players accountable when they f**k up.

The OL didn't help him today - he was constantly having to tuck the ball and run.

Not all it matters - but I think it's clear that Lance can play this game. He obviously needs to improve in so many areas but as long as he looks like he belongs on the field - he should start so he can learn the game.
Play Calling can be better but I won't blame Kyle yet. He's also learning what plays will work with Lance and what will not. This is why I wanted Lance to get all the reps this summer - so he's better prepared and Kyle also knows what plays he can run effectively. I really hope he gets these 10 days of practice as no1 Qb.
