High picks have not missed a year due to a pandemic, this is not close to normal circumstances. He is way behind the eight ball on passing attempts, games started, level of competition, etc. Starting him now is the worst possible situation for him and the team. Everybody wants to see the shiny new toy without realizing this will seriously hamper his ability to fix muscle memory problems. Starting Lance is not in anyway similar to starting Fields or Lawrence. Short term backyard football is only going to reinforce the negative habits.
