If you think about it, Kyle and John set lance up to be absolutely loved by the fanbase. Make everyone think you're taking McCorkle for 2 months then when you don't the fanbase is ravenous in their support for the non-mccorkle pick. Beautiful

Dude John & Kyle played everyone, fans, media, even the other coaches who didn't know, I guess only Kyle & John knew the whole time, I loved Kyle saying how when he was in Mexico when the trade happened, and then see someone, doesn't name who, saying 49ers will take Mac Jones, so he went with it to see how far they could go. It's rare to have something like this happen, leaks happen all the time, I kinda liken it to wrestling companies, there are numerous leaks from WWE, some right, some wrong, but you never hear anything about AEW, which is owned by Tony Khan, Jags owner Shad Kahn's son, when they made the Lawrence pick, Tony was in the war room. In fact right now, due to COVID, they're playing at Daily's Place, which happens to be right next to the Jags stadium. But yeah kudos to Kyle & John, loved it, had me fooled, I thought for sure Kyle was being stubborn and wanted Mac, we were wrong, and I'm so glad, I loved both Fields & Lance, so either was fine with me.

That sounds pretty optimistic. He would have to perform in a way to not only repair his value, but go above and beyond to bring back 2 2nd round picks, especially a 1st.
He will be 30 this year so we pretty much know what he is, there's no untapped potential or projection left/ he is what he is. Which is a solid, system qb who needs a great o line and run game to thrive. Furthermore, his health or lack of, is a huge detriment to his value.
so you will have a 30 year old, often injured, system qb, getting paid more than he's worth.
very few teams will be just a qb away and that's the only type of team that would part with a 1st or 2nd rounder.
Assuming he stays healthy, and is at his absolute peak of production, you would need a team like ..I really don't know, maybe Denver if two of their qbs crap the bed. IMO, we would be lucky to get a 3rd for him.

The "smokescreen" was created by the media just like John knew they would do. Lynch worked at fox and knows full well how good the media is at creating a "story"

I wasn't a fan of the tray lance selection but if frank the tank likes his game than I will reevaluate. My judgement was clouded as I may have contracted covid before film session on you tube and ate too many zyrtecs

Grap is gonna crush this year prob another sb if bosa can pump that knee up with some deer antler spray then what happens in off-season maybe tray sits for a handful of years like rodgers

The more I watch his highlights, I'm just getting more excited than I did when we made the pick, I thought for sure it was gonna be Mac Jones, I yelled F*ck yeah when we drafted him. I love this pick, watching his highlights, looks a lot like what Mahomes does, not saying he is or will be Mahomes, but I think he had the highest ceiling, and he went to the best place of the 5 QBs, Lawrence will be good, but Jags aren't ready to compete, NYJ are in a rebuild, and I fear Wilson won't fare well. Fields, who I like a lot, to Chicago, idk, they have Allen Robinson, but not sure who else, there OL is bad from what I've been told by one Bears fan. Mac went to the perfect team, I don't think he busts, nor will he be a Brady, but he'll be good for them. God, I still can't believe it was Trey Lance, so happy.

Nah, Trey will start in 2022, if Jimmy does well, repairs his value, we'll deal him, get maybe a 1, or multiple day 2 picks, likely 2, one in 2022 & 2023.

JL knew who Kyle wanted in January when they spoke and Kyle sent him film on Lance.
