Took a lot at how QBs have graded under pressure versus when kept clean (the latter of which has been found to be much more stable + predictive going forward).

It's cool that PFF has made all this available! pic.twitter.com/WTSKpSc2Uk

This roster has a lot of vets on 1 year deals. Its not a rebuilding year to let your rookie QB learn on the fly. They weren't going to plan it that way when this team is a playoff team when healthy. How is it going to go in the locker room after you signed all those vets back who are trying to win now, and you say "Just kidding, this is a QB development year. Sorry."?
How do you know he wasn't gonna be ready to start? I mean when are rookie QBs actually ready to start? How is sitting on the bench and not playing football getting him ready to play football? So what next year is the rebuilding yr? There's always gonna be vet's on one yr deals and signing up because of Jimmy was probably not the reason they signed up to begin with.
Also they had what a couple vets on 1 yr deals, mainly because they were cheap and it was a covid off season. Who were the massive one yr signings? Why can't they win games and develop the QB? Is Kyle not capable of putting him in position to be successful this this "great" roster?
Good question.
Kyle has one winning season and is not on pace for one this year.
He is going to be on the hotseat next year if they don't make the playoffs this year.

What did Reid do with Mahomes his rookie year?

Tired of people just dismissing a stat because if comes from PFF.
True or False....the QBs having the better seasons are the ones in the upper right quadrant? You dont need to answer that. Its unquestionably true.

Lance can start and at least learn, and then we see what happens in 2022.

And I'm tired of people constantly trying to force PFF grades as statistics when they are subjective with a grading system that constantly changes and doesn't know the what or why something is called or executed in a game. Taken as a grain of salt is all their numbers are worth.

Well, they have Daniel Jones charted better than Aaron Rodgers.....
My issue with PFF is that qb grading isn't about effectiveness in the system. They grade on a curve or style points, basically. As if throwing a 12 yard throw vs C2 when the nearest defender is 1 yard away is the same as the same throw vs C3 with the nearest defender 1 yard away. They're not. Or qb's are given more points for rolling out from pressure and making a throw into tight coverage than a qb who hits the hot route wide open in the flat.
I'm real interested to dive into the film. I'm not expecting him to be be able to come in at halftime with tons of pressure and perform like a 7 year vet. But curious to get real game looks on the kid.

I remember that article. He made the same point years before about Kaepernick and the need to exhaust the play before looking to run. It took years of Young having that hammered in to him. That, essentially, his 12 yard runs weren't something to be proud of when he had a receiver open 10 yards down field because he was simplifying the defenses job. But, on those occasions where the defense took everything away he could still run. IF Trey is Young 2.0, we should all be beyond happy. Young was always my favorite 49er.

No one is "forcing" anything. You have a history of dismissing everything that doesnt paint Jimmy in a good light.
Couldnt you use the bolded excuse for every single stat in football? Another rhetorical question. Yes you could. Why even track stats then?
