I think Allen's success would have come quicker if he was on a better team. The Bills roster wasn't that good when he started out. Allen also didn't have Kyle. Lance won't have that issue, He's got weapons all over the place and has Kyle the best playcaller in the league.

What? Lol that bills team has been damn good for a while - outside of QB. His first time in the playoffs, they had arguably the most complete roster, outside of ours (super bowl run). He actually was just garbage in that game and was their weakest link - they didn't have very good receiving talent though.

Which I think is what JTB1974 was referring to when he said the bills roster wasn't that good when he started, the offensive receiving talent wasn't there - he is 100% right about that. A big reason he jumped this year was Diggs coming to Buffalo.

I'm still skeptical of josh Allen though - want to see how he does this season before crowning him.

Me too! He may not work out, but at least for now we have our FQB!

He could be really good or really bad lol we'll find out
All these other NFC West teams adding speed at WR looking to score quicker.

We're over here adding Lance, beefing up the OL and stacking our RB room.

They want to score quickly as we just run them into the ground.

Wonder which defense is going to appreciate their teams plan on offense more?

I don't see really bad happening, he's made of the right stuff for that to happen. Really bad would be busts and out of the league
Re-watching some of his college games I grew so annoyed with the NDSU offense.

Lance is going to be amazing with a play caller like Shanahan.

I think the rest of the NFC West had really underwhelming drafts IMO. If the best players the other NFC West teams got are undersized speed WRs. I am a happy man.

Cardinals: Rondale Moore probably the best WR out of the bunch but still only 5"7. Should be a solid slot WR though.

Rams: TuTu Atwell- 5'8" and 149 pounds. Bust written all over him.

D'Wayne Eskridge - 5"9 23 years old. Will probably barely see the field. Unimpressed.

A bunch of slot WRs, who could bust out. Even if they do work out. If the best players the rest of NFC west came away with are some solid #3 slot WRs. I say that is big a win for us.

If he's healthy Jimmy isn't going to struggle. He was hurt the entire year last season, even when he played. 2019 was not that long ago. He is really good when healthy. People need to stop pretending he sucks.

With the OL bolstered and the time to fully recover from his ankle issues last year, he will be good in 2021.

Lance is WAY too raw to start at all this year. He will get some preseason snaps under center and some Taysom Hill type designed plays in the regular season, but if he's starting games this year were in trouble. This is a SB caliber roster, and he will be 21 with 1 year of low level college experience.

exactly, well put.

I'm expecting Jimmy to ball out. A healthy Jimmy is a solid QB.

I think he can execute at least 50% of the offense right now, simply from a mental point of view. He played basically in Kyles system at NDSU where there were a lot of similar plays. Agree that he is too raw to start, but i don't doubt that he can catch on very fast from just the mental perspective of play calls and basic boot plays etc.

Where I think he will take a bit more time is just playing with faster, stronger, more football intelligent players who can fool you with their athleticism as well as their brains. The speed of the NFL will take a bit of time for him to get accustomed to.

He'll be playing against Fred and that 49er defense every day in practice. I hope that accelerates his development the way Josh Allen and all those other college players who had flaws in their game, but once they got better coaching, became super stars.

really bad would be like a mitch trubisky career

In case this hasn't be posted. This kid looks great. Might be the best QB in the draft.
Honestly, too many people are getting hung up over whether Lance is better or worse than Fields or Jones. We will never know because none of them will be developed in the same way. The Texans ruined David Carr, we almost ruined Smith. Mahomes was drafted into a perfect situation. Etc., etc.

IMO, this coaching staff would have done well with any of the three. Hell, if we don't have all the other injuries last year it looked like Mullens was going to be just fine. All of them are much more talented than Mullens.

I don't like that we traded up at all. We could of had one of them at 12. But if we do trade up then take the guy with the highest ceiling. To me that was Lance.

Yeah except the only qb available at 12 was Jones. So you would have been happy with Jones over Lance.
